I love panzerotti, both fried and baked. My passion was born when I was very young, in fact it is tradition that on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, as well as other minor holidays, fried panzerotto is cooked in homes, from the classic tomato and mozzarella to other more particular ones such as meat with ragù, ricotta and spinach and other increasingly characteristic of the area.

Located in the historic center, in a small square that is not exactly easy to find, the Grottino has for some years intrigued many customers with its giant panzerotti and today it is almost impossible to find a free place without having made a reservation.
The restaurant is small but welcoming, the staff young and professional, it is certainly not a luxury restaurant but the quality of the food is certainly excellent. Nothing particularly refined, it looks more like a trattoria, but the surprise wax is precisely the panzerotto XL, it looks even bigger in real life.

It is possible to order the stuffed panzerotto with different options, from the menu I read well over 10 different types.
The big news, however, is the panzerotto XXL, weighing 3 kg and approximately 1.20 meters long. It would take a hero like ManVsFood to eat it alone, but it's ideal for at least 4-5 people, served on a large cutting board and placed in the center of the table. My curiosity focuses on the size of the pan to be able to cook it in all its noble dimensions. When flipped vertically, he's taller than my son who is a little over two and a half years old. Science fiction.

At the Grottino customers can alternatively order pizzas, focaccias, appetizers and mixed fried foods. A nice evening with friends and lots and lots of food.

Io adoro i panzerotti, sia fritti che cotti al forno. La mia passione nasce da molto piccolo, è tradizione infatti che alla vigilia di Natale e di Capodanno, oltre ad altre festività minori, nelle case si cucini il panzerotto fritto, dal classico pomodoro e mozzarella fino ad altri più particolari come carne al ragù, ricotta e spinaci e altre sempre più caratteristiche del territorio. 

Per cui, non è difficile trovare panzerotti di taglia standard un po' ovunque nei panifici, pizzerie o takeaway. Più raro è invece trovare panzerotti di taglia large o extra large. Si tratta di un panzerotto di circa 50 cm di lunghezza, 1 kg di peso, impegnativo soprattutto se fritto, piuttosto che cotto nel forno. 

Situato bel centro storico, in una piazzetta non proprio semplice da trovare, il Grottino da qualche anno ha incuriosito moltissimi clienti con i suoi panzerotti giganti ed oggi è quasi impossibile trovare un posto libero senza aver effettuato la prenotazione.
Il locale è piccolo ma accogliente, il personale giovane e professionale, non è certo un ristorante di lusso ma la qualità del cibo è certamente ottima. Nulla di particolarmente raffinato, ha un aspetto più da trattoria, ma la cera sorpresa è proprio il panzerotto XL, dal vivo sembra ancora più grande. 

È possibile ordinare il panzerotto farcito con diverse opzioni, dal menù leggo ben oltre 10 tipologie differenti. 
La grande novità è invece il panzerotto XXL, dal peso di 3 kg ed lunghezza 1 metro e 20 circa. Ci vorrebbe un eroe simile a ManVsFood per mangiarlo in solitudine, invece è ideale almeno per 4-5 persone, servito su un grande tagliere e posizionato al centro del tavolo. La mia curiosità si concentra sulla grandezza del tegame per poterlo cucinare in tutta la sua nobile dimensioni. Se capovolto in verticale, è più alto di mio figlio che ha poco più di due anni e mezza. Fantascienza.

Presso il Grottino i clienti possono ordinare in alternativa pizze, focacce, antipasti e misti fritti. Una bella serata tra amici e tanto, tanto cibo.
