It's quite bewildering to realize how quickly this has passed and how inevitably we have to wait for the next one. The weekend is when my family and I are really together, and it always seems so little. The perfect afternoon for my son is to sit and throw stones into the water, especially if the sea is rough and the waves break a few meters from us. Although the weather was not sunny and the clouds seemed to approach more and more menacing, my fearless son approached the water and threw stones at the crest of the waves, then retreated before being soaked by the spray. My wife and I, a little exhausted from the excessive lunch, watch and admire the little man's energy. He's the age where all you have to think about is what game to play. When I was little, I too loved throwing stones into the sea. Indeed, I was quite good at bouncing on the surface of the water with particular flattened stones, to which is added the throwing technique that one learns with practice. Today, however, I am really very poor. Clouds threaten rain but my son is braver than all of us. He has decided to continue throwing stones as long as he feels like it. He really is a stubborn little fellow, but that's not always a bad thing. If the direction is well channeled, this attitude can help him overcome the obstacles that will inevitably present themselves in front of him.
