As in every new bullish season, the first decisive move concerns exclusively Bitcoin, the king of cryptocurrencies but also the first crypto ever created way back in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto. In fact, the market calculates the impact of BTC on the entire sector and an ad hoc study was carried out on the performance of Bitcoin compared to other cryptocurrencies, called *Bitcoin Dominance*.  The dominance of BTC indicates the value of the circulating Bitcoin compared to all other altcoins. At the moment, for example, the value is calculated at 51%, that is, of the value of the total cryptocurrency market, more than 50% is determined by $BTC itself. Generally, dominance is always very high but this percentage statistically decreases near the altseasons. ### When is the high season? Bitcoin is always the gateway to the entire altseason sector, although Ethereum is also showing considerable interest from institutions and retail users. But we can statistically state that the real altseason begins when Bitcoin's dominance drops below 40%, impacting less and less on the total value of crypto capitalization. We can also state that Bitcoin's dominance has almost never fallen below 30%, so these data could be useful to those waiting for the end of the bull market to download cryptocurrencies and fill their coffers. Obviously the data can change from season to season and everything can be proven wrong. This is the big puzzle in the sector and I would avoid waiting too long to eventually cash in. Pe whales, on the other hand, are manipulative and in a few minutes I can change the market trend. It is probable, but this is just my thought, that the entry of institutional investors with ETFs in the future will be able to influence the markets less quickly, as there are rules that limit exceptional dollar movements in a short time.
