I am going to explain why we are our own worst enemies and our biggest obstacle to self empowerment.  People have no ability to see themselves as the "bad guy."  It is a fundamental flaw in human understanding.  No matter how empathetic anyone is or how grounded they are, to remain sane a human is going to always find some kind of reason or justification for why they did whatever bad or out of character thing they did.  I have always tried to counter this by examining everything I do from as many possible angles as I could imagine and determining how I should have reacted differently and imagining different outcomes etc.  The problem is that no matter what the justification or reasoning we can come up with, we still did what we did and sometimes that is unchangeable.  For example, a person can't get angry and kill someone and realize that they should have walked out of the room when they started getting upset and since they know they should have walked out of the room then it is okay.  Life doesn't work like that.  Instead we need to lose our ego and focus on our higher self.  You should always be in tune with your higher consciousness and only do what feels right in the present moment.  I have found that since I started living in the present that I have much less fear or anxiety to deal with on a daily basis.

I have had to let go of losses or mistakes in my past and once becoming more spiritually aware, I can see how irrelevant dwelling on these things actually is in the end.  It really is as simple as letting go of the past and not worrying about the future.  I would say the only reason to ever delve into the past is to heal a core flaw.  The problem with leaving a core flaw in place is that it is going to effect your life going forward.  Everyone learns at their own pace and in the grand scheme of things time isn't real.  There is no rush to deal with past mistakes, but people are held in behavior loops by not learning from mistakes.  I personally feel like I am constantly learning what I do wrong right after I needed to understand it.  When we are not in synchronicity with our higher self, we are never on time for anything.  The important takeaway here is that we can grow and learn, and once we reach enlightenment, we can change our actions and start acting from our higher consciousness and divine self.  Once we reach that plateau, time is irrelevant and we can fix our mistakes or keep them as reminders.  In the end everything that happens in this life is going to be a memory, so do everything in love and never make decisions out of fear.  Accept that you are not an all powerful omnipotent being and just focus on being the best you that you can be.
