Welcome back Stormer fans for another end of season review for Storm Peak FC!

On the pitch, the Stormers finished 3rd in the League 3 #652 table with 61 points and a +32 goal differential for the season. While the squad fell short of the preseason goal of a league title and promotion, the Storm Peak FC coach felt that the team is in a much better place at the end of season 23, as evidenced by the teams performance in the 2nd half of the season. After the halfway point, the Stormers record was 9 wins 5 ties and just 1 loss, which was a huge improvement over the first half were the team had 4 losses. After consulting with Club Management, the coaching staff has concluded that the chemistry built throughout the season was invaluable and therefore will look to keep as much continuity in the squad as possible heading into Season 24.
On the individual level, the Storm Peak FC Media Relations team are proud to present the club player of the year and newcomer of the year awards:
Club Player of the season: Machiko Villalba 20 year old Argentinian midfielder
Machiko was the anchor of the midfield playing the #6 role of defensive midfielder for all 30 of Storm Peak FC's matches. Providing a huge lift to the defensive integrity of the squad while also being the main conduit for the ball to move from the defensive zone to the midfielder and attackers.
Newcomer of the season: Roberto Caballero 19 year old Spanish attacker
Roberto, who was featured in our mid season update, is no surprise, our newcomer of the season! Playing in all 30 games as well, Roberto was by far the most lethal Stormer in front of goal, scoring 17 league goals. A new signing at the beginning of the season, Roberto has really found a home at Storm Peak and while he only has 2 years left on his deal, Storm Peak management is already considering a contract extension when available.
On the financial side of the club, it was another season of heavy spending to get the club to the level that the Owner demands. The profit/loss for the season was -423,191 RBN which was approximately double the loss taken by the club in season 22. This was mainly due to a large increase in player salaries as the club's general manager had a mandate of improving the squad with promising young players and paying the salaries associated with those types of players. Going forward, the head of financials for the club projects losses for the near future until the club is able to win the league and get promoted into league 2. Even with the projected losses, the owner has signified that he intends to keep infusing the club with cash when necessary and winning the league title is much more important than turning small profits in league 3.
Storm Peak FC's general manager has indicated that the squad will largely be the same going into the next season with the goal of team cohesion and chemistry improving performance and achieve the league title.
