# Earning While Incapacitated

While I was sick recently, one of the things I was thinking of being great as it was, was that I was still earning passively here on Hive even though I didn't have the physical ability to be on the chain.

Every so often we get saddled with something that knocks us down a few pegs on the normal every day ladder. This certainly is what was going on with us! We were all feeling under the weather and had different things going on. For me, one of the things that it stopped almost completely was my Hive interactions! I feel bad about that but when you feel like shit, you feel like shit lol.

Thankfully I had a bunch of content already scheduled and ready to go so for the most part, I didn't miss a beat with my posts. It may have taken a few days to respond to folks but I was able to keep things going.

What was really interesting was my ability to keep the earning on Hive going passively in the time I wasn't able to be as active as I have been in the past. I think this is one of the remarkable aspects of a place like Hive. We have a lot of opportunity to make some internal funds in so many different areas!

There are opportunities on Hive Engine such as BRO, Hive Index and many others that will give you passive earnings when you buy some of the token on there.

Another great one for me has been using Leo DEX to set up my account with exponential voting in certain tribes and tokens that I don't actively curate but get the opportunity to curate by following the Curangel voting trail.

Being able to set up a multiplier so that my voting power in the different tribe tokens is as often as possible, not sitting at 100% is great!

As difficult as it was to get on the chain and do some interacting, I was grateful to be able to let things do what they need to do and still be able to do some passive earning while I'm focusing on getting better.

Thankfully I'm getting back into the swing of things; getting content scheduled, interacting with people and getting back into my groove. What's great to know is that things can be reverted to auto-pilot when it needs to be and things in my account won't fall apart!

I'm glad to read you are on the mend, I know it sucks when you get knocked down by being sick and you feel like you lose a lot of productivity. I had that happen leading up to the end of my pregnancy as well and I lost almost 2 weeks on Hive - also I felt like shit and didn't really feel like anyone needed to know it, so I totally get that aspect. 

You've put up some interesting info here that I wasn't aware of and I'm now going to look into, I'm always keen to expand on the options of passive earnings although a lot of it tends to go over my head (Taraz often posts great posts on these things much of which I don't understand but I hope one day I'll get there).

Hey Andy hope you're doing well! Did the baby get delivered safely and healthy? Hope it went well, or will go well if it hasn't happened yet! 

There's lots of great ways to earn on here! Some can be a little expensive like BRO but are worth it in the long run. Hive index is a good one as well and is a bit cheaper to get into initially so you can check both out for sure! There's more out there from what I've learned, it's just hard keeping up with all of it hahaha. 

The easiest thing to do is use LEODex to set vote multipliers so that if you have any Leo stake, you can vote on my post at 20% here for hive or whatever and set the Leo multiplier to 5x and it will vote on the post with your Leo stake at 100% which is great! Really helps maximize rewards for different tribes like Leo, neoxian, palnet and others.
