Hi fellow Hiveians, 

Today here with another fun day of work at the lake.

# Lumberjack

So going along with more of the cleaning of the yard, we took full advantage of the great weather today! It was hot but the humidity wasn’t around so we could work in the shade and be very comfortable. 

We had this big pile of wood that needed to go, along with some of the other scraps from the broken boat dock that hasn’t been in the water for 2 years. Had a bit of a circular saw session today!

The pile of wood started at this size when I first started cutting the first, small pieces. It’s nice to have the junk part of the yard being over on this side. This is where the really big pile of tree branches is, it’s to my left a bit.

After the day of cutting, has a fairly sizable pile of sawdust accumulated! The cinder block has been the cutting table for me this whole time. I think I’ll commemorate the last piece by putting it at the very top of the wall that we will build at some point lol

That’s the pile that I made with all the lumber today. I have a few more smaller sections to cut but we will be slowly bringing this wood to the dumpster so we don’t take up too much room at once. Plenty of time! 

I’m hoping that the carpenter ants will take up a bit of a home in the pile so they eat it, not the important things like the deck lol. They won’t last there for a long time but there’s so many bugs that enjoy the piles, I have to very slowly move the piles for fear of a big ass spider crawling on me or something lol.

# Stone 

So now that some of the biggest cleaning jobs is done, we’ve been looking at some of the other components of the area we can change. 

This fire pit has been sitting there unused for several years. In New Hampshire, you need a permit to light fires, even if they are completely surrounded by stones. If not you can get some heavy fines, at the most losing your property! We don’t plan on using it any time soon so we’ve partially cleaned it up so we can take all the dirt out and place fresh sand on it.

His neighbor was giving these huge slabs of granite away for free! I guess if you have your house in the ‘Granite State’ then you will have it everywhere. We aren’t used to it though so we took it! 

We plan on moving them to the area that goes down to the water to make a cool, official path down to the water. The one tough part is that I need to figure out what the hell I’m going to do to move the stones down there without killing myself lol
