The company currently has patented container material and has integrated IoT technology in its containers. Its containers are used primarily for cold-storage transportation of medicines, but a greater business volume is available in cold-storage transport of food. The company wants to grow its business by going in to the food shipping market. Before growing its business, SmartContainers is improving its technology by putting its systems on the blockchain.

# Use Case: 

1. Transporters work hard to make sure the delivery goes well. It can be difficult to track the shipment during the transport. SmartContainers lets the transporter monitor the condition of the shipment throughout a delivery. This lets transporters be proactive in the effort to ensure the shipment is delivered in good condition. As the blockchain can record the data about the shipment in an immutable record, the receiver can verify whether the delivered products' condition is in agreement with what had been stated in the blockchain record. 

2. Fraud prevention is a difficult challenge faced in every industry. Businesses that are sourcing products need to be sure that the products are delivered without tampering. The IoT combined with the blockchain gives the ability to record the movement of the container to let businesses know the location of the container and to let them verify whether the shipment followed the assigned journey. Any tampering is likely to take place en route. If a security measure can ensure the transporter does not deviate from the assigned path, there is no opportunity for any tampering to take place.
