One might think that today, with the widespread use of indie video games and the fact that it's easier than ever to make a video game and release it on Steam, we might think it would be easy to find a game that would keep me glued to the screen for days. Although in some cases, this is the case; I don't always find the game that calls to me.
I recently came across Ninesols, an indie game that came out last year, but I only discovered it a few weeks ago through a TikTok. I only watched a video of some of the games. Within a few seconds, I got tremendous vibes from Hollow Knight or those kinds of platformers where there's a lot of exploration and challenging combat.

I wanted it from the first moment. Play and here we have it. I made a post a few days ago when I started it, but I wanted to record my first half hour in the world of technological Taoism.
Ninesols is surely going to be a video game that deserves more than one analysis. It's a platformer, yes, but I think it focuses more on combat than on offering a platforming section where strategy is required. That's why I say it's much more like Hollow Knight than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Messenger

From the first minutes of embarking on the adventure, we can already see glimpses of what a full-fledged Metroidvania is like. There are channels that are blocked, apparently not. We can't do anything at the moment, so we keep moving forward. When we encounter something similar, we'll have to retreat and look for alternatives. All this while many enemies stalk us in a combat system that's quite elaborate.
Basically, the combat system rewards our reflexes. There's a very good focus on countering our opponents. We can hit them with our swords, but as they do, they'll have to take a lot of damage before falling. So we have an incentive to counter them well and activate the "amulet" that allows us to eliminate them in a single blow by holding a sword. button

In addition to eliminating them immediately, we also receive some bonuses that can change depending on how we customize our protagonist's abilities. Because there are also RPG elements in this title, you can improve Yi's abilities. (protagonist) But I think you can finish the entire game. After a short introduction with the story, we move on to explore how terrible the underground of this planet is.
Humans have been tricked for years into performing rituals for an unknown purpose, but now we enter the dungeons of this facility in what appears to be the beginning of our revenge after the betrayal we suffered in the first cinematic.

The gameplay is more complex than it looks. The timing of blocking varies greatly depending on the enemy we encounter, and although we can block all enemies, Only attacks that we block at the right moment will not hurt us and will give us the damage bonus, a good system to reward us for not anticipating attacks and waiting for the right moment, something that also goes with the theme of the game's plot.

Although I've been playing for half an hour, the truth is that I haven't even been able to get to the first boss of the game, either because there is an enemy in front of me that I can't block in time or because I am killed by some trap that I don't see on the ground. It's not a difficult game per se, but you do have to understand the controls. Being able to manage it better and not have them killing us all the time, something similar to Hollow Knight in that sense too

Uno podria pensar que hoy en dia con la masificacion de los videojuegos indies y el hecho de que hoy es mas facil que nunca hacer un videojuego y sacarlo por steam podriamos pensar que seria facil conseguir un juego que me mantuviese adicto a la pantalla por dias, aunque en algunos casos es asi no siempre consigo el juego que me llame
Recientemente me he encontrado con Ninesols, un indie que salio el año pasado pero hasta solo hace unas semanas he podido descubrir a traves de un tiktok, solo ver el video de unos pocos segundos me dieron unas vibras tremendas a Hollow Knight o ese tipo de juegos plataformeros en donde hay mucha exploracion y el combate es retador

Desde el primer momento lo quise jugar y aqui lo tenemos, hice un post hace unos dias cuando lo empece pero queria dejar constancia de mi primera media hora en el mundo de el taoismo tecnologico
Ninesols va a ser seguramente un videojuego que merezca mas de un analisis, es un plataformas si, pero creo que se enfoca mas en el combate que en ofrecer una seccion de plataformas en donde se requiera estrategia, por eso digo que es mucho mas como un Hollow Knight que un The Messenger

Desde los primeros minutos en donde nos lanzamos a la aventura ya podemos ir viendo retazos de lo que es un metroidvania en toda regla, hay canales que estan bloqueados, aparentemente no podemos hacer nada de momento asi que seguimos avanzando, y cuando nos encontremos con algo similar tendremos que retrodeceder y buscar alternativas, todo esto mientras muchos enemigos nos acechan en un sistema de combate que esta bastante trabajado
Basicamente el sistema de combate recompensa los reflejos de nosotros, hay un enfoque muy bueno en hacer counters a los adversarios, podremos golpearlos con la espada pero a medida tendran que recibir mucho daño antes de caer, asi que tenemos un incentivo en hacerles un buen counter y activar el "amuleto" que nos permite eliminarlos de un solo golpe sosteniendo un boton

Ademas de eliminarlos de inmediato tambien recibimos algunas bonificaciones que pueden cambiar dependiendo de como personalizamos las habilidades de nuestro protagonista, porque tambien hay trozos de RPG en este titulo, puedes mejorar habilidades de Yi (protagonista) peor creo que puedes pasarte todo el juego, despues de una corta introduccion con la historia pasamos a explorar lo terrible que es el subterraneo de este planeta
Los humanos han sido engañados por años a hacer rituales para un proposito que desconozco, pero ahora nosotros nos adentramos hasta las mazmorras de esta instalacion en lo que parece ser el inicio de nuestra venganza despues de la traicion que sufrimos en la primera cinematica

El gameplay es mas complejo de lo que se ve, el momento para bloquear varia bastante del enemigo que nos encontremos y aunque podemos bloquear todos los ataques solo los que lo bloqueemos en el momento justo no nos haran daño y nos daran el bonificador de daño, un buen sistema para recompensar que no nos adelantemos a los ataques y esperemos el momento justo, algo que va tambien con la tematica de la trama del juego

Aunque llevo media hora jugando la verdad es que nisiquiera he podido llegar hasta el primer boss del juego, ya fuese porque hay un enemigo en frente al cual no llego a bloquearlo a tiempo o porque me mata alguna trampa que no veo en el suelo, no es un juego dificil per se pero si hay que entender los controles para poder manejarlo mejor y que no nos esten matando cada rato, algo parecido a Hollow Knight en ese sentido tambien
