My Weekend Trip to Coorg - The Scotland of India

### Coorg - The Scotland of India
###
The land of Kodagu (also known as Coorg) with its beautiful hills, streams, dense forests, vegetation and fauna and river Kaveri became a lot more attractive to the tourist. A lot of people spend their weekends in Coorg and it is the best weekend gataway from Bangalore.

Coorg is called as a Scotland of India because most of the planters were Scots and the similarities between both the places earned Coorg the nickname of "Scotland Of India". Just Like Scotmandm, Coorg is also mountainous and misty along with the temperature which is normally cool.

Both Coorg and Scotland has cultural similarities as well, like both of them had clan based societies. Both the clans of Scouts and Coorg keep arms, the Scots kept short daggers whereas the Coorgs kept carved daggers.

I have visited many places in Coorg over this weekend and wanted to show you how beautiful Coorg is :) All the pictures were clicked by Nokia 6, Mobile Camera

Beautiful place my friend. It seems like an amazing place to find some peace and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery. Love the waterfalls picture. There is a similar place like this near my home in Croatia. It actually reminds me a bit of home. :)

But for the coffee beans, the monks and their temple, you could be forgiven for believing this was Scotland. Looks like a great experience, cool and calm and beautiful. I can see why you would escape there.

Indeed @neuromancer, it is a very common place for youngsters to enjoy their weekend. Usually, people take their bikes and reach there in 5 hours. Next time I am also planning the trip on bike.

Coorg surrounding nature is amazing with waterfalls, great views and simple living! So distant from the noise of urban areas!

@pisolutionsmru That's correct, I have only seen one waterfall Abbey Falls, but there are a lot of Waterfall in and around Coorg :)
