In Bangalore, if you are constructing a new house in 1200 sqaure feet or higher then you have to do Rain Water Harvesting. But the problem is people are not doing it as there is an additional cost on it. The rain water Harvesting is one of the best way to get the water for your household purpose and not rely on the supply.  PC: Pixabay.com And I guess every house, whether big or small should have rain water Harvesting done. The thing is, the water will get costly in the days to come atleast in Bangalore. This is because the ground water is depleting fast and the rain water is not reaching the underground. The Kaveri water is not enough for all the people of Bangalore and thus people have to rely on tankers, which is becoming costly day by day. In simple terms Rain Water Harvesting is a way to store the rain water for your water purpose. In Rajasthan, it is actually happening in villages where they get less water. I know this water will not be sufficient for long but still something is better than nothing. In Bangalore also when there is summer the water gets scarce and if you can use the rain water for one week also then it will help. I know not all the places gets rain water, but where the water is more people usually waste it. But if someone keeps nature in mind and do rain water Harvesting then the water will br useful. And the more and more people do it, at one point of time we will not have the water scarcity. But that's far fetched. I can see a lot of people are using the rain water Harvesting in Bangalore even though it costs some amount.
