Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.

Recently Splinterlands teams announce about a new gameplay format and that is Survival Mode. This will be a new format along with the Modern and Wild format. So in this nee format will be like a Wild Format where you can use any card except few in the game. That means even if you have Alpha or beta you can use the card in the Survival Mode. 

There will be no pass is required to play the Survival Mode. Along with thar there will be no energy required. That means you can play any numbers of game. So what's the catch. The catch is say for example, if you are playing with 4 cards and 1 card died in that game and you won the match. Then that died card will not be used for a amount of time. The amount of time is not disclosed yet. 

Splinterlands team has given the time the card will not be allowed. But or simplicity let's take 10 days theoretically. So if the card dies in a match, that card will not be used for 10 days. So automatically when you play more, the more number of card will die and eventually you will not have good card to play and thus you are bound to wait for the card revival. And thus card is being used as a energy. We all know that some of the cards just sit idle without being played, so that card will also be used to play the some of the game if you have lost many cards.

As a individual, who used to play with all the cards before the Wild Pass introduced. I feel this is a great Mode. I can use all my old cards to play in this Survival mode. In this way every if they die, I am ok because I can use them instead of them just sitting idle. So for me it's a good thing. I can play with my good cards in the Modern just like that and them whetever old card I have can be used to play the Survival mode until and unless they die. So I feel Survival mode can give you that chance to use your old cards, which you were not using.
