# Simple Yet Effective

Hello, today I’m going to show you a method of writing articles very quickly using voice to text software.  Many people are not aware that there is software built right into windows that allows you to speak into a microphone and it will type on screen for you.  Regardless of how fast you are at typing, it can be a daunting task to write an article with hundreds or maybe even thousands of words.  Personally I like to pour myself a cup of coffee and sit and talk into the microphone vs. slamming my fingers into the keyboard over and over.

Click on the windows icon in the lower left hand corner and search for speech recognition.  Open up the speech recognition software and go through the initial setup.  You’ll have to speak and your microphone so that you can get your microphone setup properly, it is very simple and it only takes about a minute and then you’re essentially ready to go!  Yes, it really is just about that easy.  Well, not quite that easy and ball were almost there.  The next up is to open text editing software like Microsoft word or notepad.  Put your cursor and the paper space and begin speaking with your microphone listening.  There  should be an icon along the top side of your screen that shows that the microphone is listening.  Of course you’ll have to go through and added all of the syntax to properly formatted your article but either way this method should save you time.  A quick side note, this software is not just for typing but it is actually to control your computer with your voice.  You can essentially talk to your computer like it is a smart phone using this software.

I will admit that the voice recognition software is not the best.  Sometimes it will mess up words and you’ll need to manually correct them but once you get used to the software you can certainly speak a lot faster than you can type, at least for most people.
