## Hello Hive ❤️

Hey everyone, welcome back to the CBRS #Podcast! We're thrilled to share the highlights from our latest episode, recorded right here in our studio. It’s been another action-packed week full of Hive community updates, cool projects, and some fun brainstorming. Let’s dive into what we talked about!

## Dapplist Success and Rising Star Spotlight

We kicked things off with a shoutout to the Dapplist, where we recently promoted @ThreeSpeak. The response was amazing! By the time we recorded, 73 users had earned comment rewards, and 3Speak Dapp racked up 117 votes, landing in third place among Hive dapps on The Dapp List. @Splinterlands still has the top spot (no surprise there!), followed by Hive @Keychain with 122 votes. If you haven’t voted for your favorite dapps yet, head over to [The Dapp list](https://thedapplist.com/chain/hive) and show some love. It really helps the Hive ecosystem shine!

Next up, we’re excited to announce that @risingstar2 will be the next Dapp we are going to vote for on the Dapplist this coming Friday. It’s a fantastic project, and we can’t wait to see the community rally around it.

## Hive Echo: Growing Strong

The @Hive-Echo initiative is picking up steam, now with 200 followers Woo Hoo! We’re loving the community’s energy. For those who don’t know, Hive Echo posts weekly updates every seven days, so set a reminder in your calendar to stay in the loop. We also launched an "Out of the Box" Call to Action this week, boosting a #Hive related post on X. The results? Over 90 likes and 2,000 views, thanks to the community’s support. We’re thinking of making this a regular thing—maybe picking top posts from platforms like X or Reddit for the community to amplify. It’s all about building that “Hive Army” vibe!

## Connecting Hive and X

We also talked about how easy it is to link your Hive account to X. Some new users think it’s complicated, but it’s actually super simple using #HivePosh. Even though the #Posh token rewards program (which synced X posts to Hive) isn’t active right now due to X’s API costs, connecting your accounts is still a great way to grow your presence. Plus, it’s cool to have that X icon on your Hive profile so people can find you across platforms. We noticed some front-ends like PeakD show these social media links, but others like @Ecency don’t—yet. Maybe it’s time for an update?

## Helping New Hive Users

Speaking of new users, we had a big idea to make Hive more welcoming for newcomers. Right now, it’s hard to spot who’s new on the platform unless they post in the “Introduce Yourself” section (and not everyone does). We suggested adding a “newbie” tag or icon on front-ends like @PeakD or @Ecency for accounts less than six months old. Something to show curators and the community who’s just starting out. We even brainstormed a gamified system where new users could earn badges (like a green leaf that turns yellow or red as they complete tasks). This could tie into @HiveBuzz or a new user retention program funded by the DHF. Imagine a pool of 100,000 HIVE to reward newbies for completing tasks. How cool would that be?

## Wheel of Names: Big Wins!

No CBRS Podcast is complete without our Wheel of Names! This week, we spun the wheel twice, giving away 25 HIVE each to two lucky winners, courtesy of our awesome sponsor, @ThreeSpeak. Congratulations to @acgalarza and @oadissin for scoring the rewards!

## Hive Event in Brazil

We also gave a shoutout to @vempromundo, who’s planning a Hive event in Brazil. He’s got big ideas but needs funding, so we suggested he follow the playbook we used with @CBRSphilanthropy project: post regular updates, share a roadmap, and collect rewards organically. Vempromundo’s first post outlined his vision, and his next one will break down the financials. The DHF is tough to crack right now (with a 41 million HIVE threshold!), so he might explore @ValuePlan or community donations. Let’s show him some support to make this event a reality!

## Ecency’s New Editor and Open-Source Talk

Big props to @Ecency for their sleek new editor! It’s clean, user-friendly, and feels like writing in Google Docs. The only catch? You can’t paste HTML code directly—you’ll need to use the old editor for that. Still, it’s a huge upgrade, and we’re loving the open-source vibes. Speaking of open-source, we touched on @borislavzlatanov’s post about the HBD Stabilizer. It’s a cool project to make it open source originaly built by @Smooth, but we’re still wrapping our heads around how it benefits communities or users running it. If anyone (@borislavzlatanov, @Smooth, or others) can break it down for us, we’d love to share more in the next episode!

## Lego Stop-Motion Dreams

One of our favorite moments was talking about @Dovycola, a talented young Hivian who loves singing and is now diving into Lego stop-motion videos. He’s building a stage from Lego for his music video and even used #ChatGPT to brainstorm episode ideas.

We recommended an app called Brickett, which scans your Lego pieces and suggests what you can build. How awesome is that? @Dovycola also powered up 400 HIVE, showing he’s all in on Hive. Plus, he’s waiting to hear back from Voice Kids of Holland if he will go to Blind Auditions so fingers crossed!

Hello guys. Thanks for noticing and talking about the various work done by many people around here, including my bit of work on the open-source hbdstabilizer. Let me see if I can shed some light on it.

Now that there is an open-source hbdstabilizer software, anyone can run one. It doesn't have to be just smooth running one, it can be more decentralized. But why would you want to run it? Simply, in order to help keep HBD's peg. It's simply to participate in helping keep the peg. There are no benefits to you personally for running it. You make a DHF proposal, but the hbdstabilizer bot that you run uses all the money from that proposal to buy and sell on the market in order to help keep the peg. When HBD is at peg, the hbdstabilizer bot immediately returns the money to the DHF.

But let's say that you want to be compensated for running the hbdstabilizer. (Even though there's really no work involved, but let's just give it as an example to better understand the whole concept.) In that case, you would make a DHF proposal, and you would keep a percentage of the funds for yourself, and the rest will be used to help keep the peg. In such a scenario there is a personal benefit to you.

Now, the last thing which might have been confusing: if you make a DHF proposal and you promise to use the funds to help keep the HBD peg, why should the Hive stakeholders trust you and upvote your proposal? After all, you might run away with the money. Well, to help with this, I had the idea that there could be a tool which regularly checks your DHF proposal and how the funds are being used. If the tool detects the funds are not used properly, it will quickly take appropriate action. So the Hive stakeholders can have more peace of mind and don't have to manually check how the funds are used.

I hope this clarifies it a little bit, but let me know. 

You also mentioned something interesting - could such an hbdstabilizer be used to help keep the peg of an L2 stablecoin? I had not thought of this but in principle it would be possible, yes.

The stabilizer benefits communities because people in those Hive-platform communities want to hold value or make payments in a token that doesn't fluctuate wildly in price according to speculative markets. HBD provides this service within the Hive community and the stabilizer facilitates its function while also earning a profit from price fluctuations. The profit is then returned to the DHF where it can be used to fund projects (even if it isn't used to fund projects, it still benefits the Hive community by reducing the number of coins in circulation, which would tend to increase their price).

oh ya for apis, ya that would be cool. I am sure if you have ideas Lut would love to hear them. He has been extremely friendly, even offering deep dives into peoples blockchain posts to help them get better results. As far as I know he dose 90% of the work manually to tie his gamification of daily activity to on chain rewards.

HiveBuzz seems easy to integrate into the cycle of do these actions on chain and get rewards as you progress. I would imagine there would be an easy way to add rewards behind the different badges if someone is willing to fund it. 

This kind of idea seems to fit very will in line with things like the tip bots and the fact that hive buzz makes posts for every badge. So in theory it should be possible to give a delegation or some small amount of hive power to accounts as they progress through the different badges. 

I guess there would need to be some kind of oversight still on this to prevent abuse cases. I don't know much about this part, because people are creative about finding ways to game the system.
