Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!  Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.  Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together. Isaiah 31:1-3

From the scriptures above, Isaiah  condemned the Judeans for relying on Egypt instead of trusting the God of Isreal. They thought they were wise, but actually they were foolish. Real wisdom rests with God and not  man or the arm of flesh. 

Those who put their trust in man is like those Jews that seek alliance with Egypt for safety because  of their number, horsemen and their strength. 

They were made to understand that the Egyptians are mere men and not God, the more reason they should not build trust in them. Their horses are just flesh and not spirit. 

God wanted to trust in the everlasting arm that is mighty to save them from the mighty army and horsemen. Help comes from no one but the Lord and He is the one we can rely on at all times. 

Living in a superpower nation or Seeking refuge in powerful nations in the world doesn't guarantee anyone safety. No amount of security measures put in place for an individual can ensure his safety. 

We live in a catastrophic world and there are lot of uncertainties happening everyday. No one is safe except those whose trust in God. We have never been safe from dangers from our world though we have or security apparatus and equipments.

In what have you buid your trust?  Is it your money, your fame, your wealth, family, friends, your might or nation? They will fail and can never   bargain for your life on the day death or clamity knocks om your door. 

Wisdom should let you know that man can never give anything in exhange for his life on the day of his death. Help only comes from God and distrusting Him would be very detrimental.
