Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt like it was going to be a "lazy day"? You don't feel like doing anything other than lounging around in your PJs and eating junk food while watching Netflix? Well, today is that kind of day for me. If you read one of my [previous posts](https://peakd.com/hive-194848/@coloringiship/the-minimalist-lifestyle-or-how-i-incorporate-minimalism-in-my-day-to-day-life-a-peek-inside-my-daily-routine) detailing my daily routines, you would know that my day is pretty structured. However, I feel a bit under the weather today and want to take things a bit easier (or so I thought). I woke up slightly late at 6.20am this morning because I dozed off after hitting the alarm. But thank God, I pre-planned the family breakfast the night before, so I knew exactly what to do the moment I woke up. Instead of doing the dreadful housework, I thought of returning to bed after everyone left for school/work. I tried to catch some sleep, but unfortunately, I was restless thinking about the daily tasks I needed to do. So I got up, took out my broom and mop, and cleaned the house. I did the awful laundry too...and cleaned the toilet and the whole shebang. Ughhh...so much of wanting to lounge in my PJs and watch Netflix 😏. But I did excuse myself from cooking lunch because I didn't feel like eating my own food. Have you ever felt that way? You cooked for everyone but hated the food and ended up eating instant noodles for lunch? That was exactly what I did. Since working out is a [big thing for me](https://peakd.com/hive-124452/@coloringiship/girl-power-or-three-reasons-i-fell-in-love-with-cardio-boxing), I didn't skip it. It's a promise I made to myself that, no matter how "lazy" I feel, I would haul my ass, put on my shoes, and just exercise. And boy, I am so glad I did that.  My body is still sore from the intense strength training sessions I did for the past few days. So, I decided to take it easy and practice my punches - jab, cross, lead hook, rear hook, lead uppercut, and rear uppercut. Basic punches without their combinations. They look simple and easy to execute but try to do it quickly. You will make mistakes, lots of it! So that is why practicing the moves is very important. Do it slowly, and your body will remember it. The more I learn about boxing, the more I respect it. And my admiration for the boxing legends grew too...and I understood why people died in the ring. The sheer power and speed of the punches could shatter opponent's skull and brain. Look at Mike Tyson. At 56 he is still a beast. I am sure he still could throttle fighters half his age. Anyway, I box not to compete. I am doing it solely for fitness because boxing, unlike running, targets the whole body. I don't even join a gym at the moment, but I might someday. I found a women's gym that trains women to be fighters, maybe I will check it out one of these days. Heh. I have "mumtum", my trophy and the body part I feel most insecure about. [I am apple-shaped](https://peakd.com/hive-141359/@coloringiship/my-thoughts-on-the-ideal-body-shape-and-being-an-apple-shaped-woman), so the fat loves to snug on my midsection. I have strong shoulders, arms, and slim legs, though.  That was my lunch: curry-flavored instant noodles. To assuage my guilt, I added some leafy vegetables and an an egg.  Another evidence of my "laziness", the unrolled hand wraps on my desk from this morning.  And I craved some sweet snacks, so I ate a packet of spirulina crackers. I pretended that was my dessert.  That's it from me today. Don't worry, I still cooked for the kids and we had a nice simple dinner this evening. But I will leave the unfolded clean laundry for tomorrow. Oh I love to learn boxing too. I am an apple shape too and to be honest it is hard to lose weight. I am so demotivated to lose my fats.

Ugghh...it's an uphill battle to lose weight with this body shape. But now I don't focus on that anymore. Kudos to you for wanting to learn boxing! It's a very empowering sport in every aspect - physical, mental, and emotional. Give it a try 😃

Can relate with that feeling of being "lazy" although just like you, I can't sleep while thinking about my unfinished tasks, lol! It's great that you kept on with your boxing.
