> It is said that the old man waited for the phone to ring, he sat in the afternoons in his elegant clothes waiting for a call, for 19 years that was his routine every day, and yet the phone never rang, autumn came through his window, and December returned, and September returned, and the phone never rang, he remembered his life so much that he was already forgetting it, the war, his first marriage, his first time in Paris, when he was starving, when there was plenty, how ironic it was life for a man who already knew her, and yet could not fully understand her, the old man of a million stories, broken in an asylum, with stale bread for breakfast, with memories for dinner.

> The cold of the years was so much that on one of so many birthdays he dressed even more elegant, with his best clothes, he did not comb his hair long ago, his perfume with the scent of yesteryear and his scarf to combine his clothes, he danced alone next to the window, to the rhythm of a song of his time, until his body, already without strength, begged him to sit in front of the phone, like every day waiting for a call, this time agitated and smiling, singing to himself "happy birthday to me... "And as ironically as a Sabina song, they gave him 10 and 11... and the phone never rang, and nobody knocked on his door, it happens that his only friend in the asylum had died, by now 10 years... and his children and grandchildren perhaps did not remember the address of the asylum, or that was what he thought... and shortly before 10 o'clock someone expected to open the door... "it is time to let's go... "And with a huge smile on her face she received her great friend with a hug, dropping the two jars of the pills he had just swallowed a few moments ago, the cold embrace of death filled him with tenderness, and next to her he went to a bar full of hubbub.

> Death was beautiful in his eyes, already tired of seeing the hardships of life, and this told him of better times, of relief and eternal peace, and with an old cigarette from the time of war, and a bottle of the best liquor , they toasted and death... "Pour yourself a drink and make yourself comfortable dear death, that the night is long and I have a lot to tell you" death smiled at him and paid attention to every detail of the old man's stories, which he remembered more clearly his life, and the liquor was running out, and he lit another cigarette, and then another, and another, until an abysmal heat flooded the bar, "I hope you have had a happy birthday my friend, we will see each other again soon, for Now I must go and let you go, it is not your time yet "death looked at him with some pity, and the old man's face changed, he was no longer happy..." you were the only one who came, among ungrateful children and old loves... thank you precious, put the bottle down, I'll wait for her to come over here sit do"... Death wept him as no one ever would, and rose from the table kissing his cheek, it was then that life sat violently at his side "let me finish this bottle" said the old man lighting another cigarette, life had no mercy He pouted when he heard the old man's request, and he looked on that table at those pills that had taken him away from life... "The next one I threw out the window..." the old man said in an ironic tone, after his entire room was on the ground floor... he got up then reluctantly accompanying life, which took him to a horrible hospital, "wait until it's your time..." Life said roughly, letting him fall into a stretcher, waking up again in his tragedy... "fucking life" he said when he woke up, and he had never been so right...

@josemalavem ·
Saludos, @connor-russo.
