Spring Snaps From My Sunny Garden!
**I've woken up to something like this today... another sunny day with light breeze freshening up the air in the valley. Temps are in the high 70s (25°C), RH is bearable, and cherry blossoms - typical for my area - are everywhere** 🌞🌹💨

![IMG_8906.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaTguKYNj68UfM9A75GbYMHctvfPDsKYEdq8xqNuMPk6c/IMG_8906.JPG)
![IMG_8909.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbJCkr7iCYkU1UE96EheuCTpvqJWjYgtnZviVL6rU7WoG/IMG_8909.JPG)

My garden is finally waking up from a long winter dream and rainy spring... now it's time to green up, the nature says, and that's what's happening 😝

![IMG_8911.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaWH9MTeQroT6AHU9KvD54Nduv6RSgCZcr7tbQn5y7PaH/IMG_8911.JPG)

This patch of soil was tilled by my father-in-law, but very lightly this time. This is loam with rather rich percentage of humus, that's been created over the years. Plants get crazy here, although nitrogen content is slightly too high for some crops IMO.

Wild fig tree is sprouting from under the bricks. This is one of the varieties, that grow wild here, and there are many in Italy! Some of these are ready in August, but the sweetest ones come in September, when we eat them fresh, and when I can't look at them anymore I cook up some marmalade 🌿🍐

![IMG_8919.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdsytHXdkvjNz3M6zfFKDXEc55fmnxQ2RDSW9nCSN64uD/IMG_8919.JPG)

And here we go with Italian heirloom variety of [snow pea](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_pea) (*Pisum sativum var. saccharatum*) commonly called *taccola*, that is planted here in November/December, and harvested in April/May. These ones will start flowering very soon 🌿

![IMG_8926.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmebEYBjtQ7wNymr8JtB5gwo1BKvh941B5S96e1BYZHYoD/IMG_8926.JPG)

My mint is also taking off! What's really interesting about it is, that it's basically weed. It spreads via runner root, which has a monster growth rate, so the plant can take over everything around in just two seasons. And that's why I planted it in the corner of my garden separated from everything else by a spruce!

![IMG_8930.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPinERiSvQSdB6bfuZTQgcKYa1GVHYhzmqNM4xs5nx8Yj/IMG_8930.JPG)

Feverfew (*Tanacetum parthenium*), garden sage, melissa and rosemary 🍀

![IMG_8935.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmaCRz7tXaZiCm2pfJjyM6AE6kxwLJ5G5JcwXEQsWKk9Ui/IMG_8935.JPG)
![IMG_8939.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTJftYYviEh5PPxgoDSczrCjEGJwsugVV3ksveFaomVy5/IMG_8939.JPG)

Rosemary bush in full bloom!

![IMG_8943.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcbLu2RmahiyEeQqUg1gq813zZBJRB2Y3dqk85RYGp16A/IMG_8943.JPG)

And garlic, which was planted in January.

![IMG_8947.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcEow9aarWk7hbQu9nz3KKkWkZkYnX8HCA2cuXeVrdkaf/IMG_8947.JPG)

And last, but not least, coriander aka. cilantro, that I planted last year out of love for Mexican dishes, and it took quite well! It survived very harsh winter - I was actually digging it up from under the snow - and as soon as the weather got better, it just exploded!

Feeling like Mexican today actually 😰

![IMG_8955.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcVcgodkAyyvdsRaYVUGqM2hwBwuxhizQXtBxdznsii1x/IMG_8955.JPG)

And cause it got sunny we have a lot of wall lizards hanging around. That's a really common creature in Southern Europe 🐉

Yeah you're up north, so spring will come much later... I don't know if I could live in Norway :)
