Greetings, friends of Hive and the Hive Korean Village. It's a great pleasure to be here participating in Contest #11 **My First Encounter with Korea.**

In my previous post in this same community participating in Contest #10 <div class="pull-right">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cositav/23xAVapf92fkuvXMGtodhQiT33vQj4S8RDsYv1B8xBRnZNipdwM7mHoJrUCojBTvMErt8.png</div>I was talking about how my first encounter with Korea was through cinema, with an excellent science fiction film called **"The Day"**, which touched on transcendental themes such as love, family, personal relationships, ethics, and the ability to overcome adversity.

Beyond this experience with the seventh art, I've heard my daughter share her reviews of some Kdramas she's seen; However, since I don't have much time due to my work responsibilities, I asked my daughter to recommend a movie for me, which is more feasible for me than watching a TV series. <div class="pull-left">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cositav/23tvYHpivw688cY5L6VTNr5rhHkkjM6pKX4NeK82HZM9rA5hmcJZZTumhSF3XwP1usm34.jpg</div> My daughter recommended a movie called **"Kpop Demon Hunters"**. I had already heard about it here at the Korean Village Community, and if that weren't enough, my youngest son told me about it too.

I didn't think twice and decided to watch it. What caught my attention first was that it's an American movie with Korean roots and based on the culture, mythology, and demonology of the Korean people.

The plot captivated me from the very beginning, combining very attractive musical, dramatic, and cultural elements. It also has that touch of humor and lightheartedness that moves you from the very beginning.
#
However, despite these meaningful encounters, I decided to have a more direct encounter with Korean culture and asked @ismeris, a user here on Hive who, like me, lives in Valencia, if she knew of any Korean places in our city. Her response was negative. However, she helped me Google some addresses of Korean places. With the information I had, the addresses, and my desire to travel the world in search of a Korean place in my city, I asked my children to join me on this exciting adventure.

We embarked on our fascinating adventure in search of a Korean contact in Valencia. We went to several Asian restaurants, visited Asian shops, and I even asked a group of Asians if they were Korean, and they told me in Spanish more perfect than mine that they were more Venezuelan than "La Arepa."

When we were about to give up, I looked up at the sky and saw an infrastructure that could be Korean. I was overjoyed. It's there every year in the world. I've driven past it so many times, and today was the first time in my life I could see it so clearly. I don't know if it's a Korean infrastructure, but it certainly has something Asian about it. So without thinking much, I grabbed my cell phone and photographed that small monument that rose among the clouds that foreshadowed a great storm, as if to add more tragedy and drama to this sublime moment.

This is how, like backpackers in search of adventure, my children and I ended our frantic search for some direct contact with Korean culture. We are eager to continue exploring our city and find, in the valleys, avenues, sidewalks, and walls of the city, some legacy of this great culture hidden in this concrete city.

이러한 일곱 번째 예술 경험 외에도, 딸아이가 본 몇몇 한국 드라마에 대한 리뷰를 공유하는 것을 들었습니다. 하지만 저는 업무 때문에 시간이 많지 않아서, TV 드라마를 보는 것보다 더 나은 영화를 추천해 달라고 딸에게 부탁했습니다. <div class="pull-left">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cositav/23tvYHpivw688cY5L6VTNr5rhHkkjM6pKX4NeK82HZM9rA5hmcJZZTumhSF3XwP1usm34.jpg</div> 딸아이는 "케이팝 데몬헌터스"라는 영화를 추천했습니다. 저는 이미 이곳 한인 마을 공동체에서 그 이야기를 들었고, 그것만으로도 충분하지 않다면 막내아들도 그 이야기를 해주었습니다.

두 번 생각하지 않고 보기로 했습니다. 가장 먼저 눈길을 끈 것은 한국에 뿌리를 둔 미국 영화이고, 한국인의 문화, 신화, 그리고 악마에 대한 내용을 담고 있다는 것이었습니다.

매우 매력적인 음악적, 드라마적, 문화적 요소들이 어우러진 줄거리는 처음부터 저를 사로잡았습니다. 또한 처음부터 감동을 주는 유머와 유쾌함도 있었습니다.

하지만 이러한 의미 있는 만남에도 불구하고, 저는 한국 문화를 더 직접적으로 경험해 보기로 결심하고, 저처럼 발렌시아에 사는 Hive 사용자 @ismeris에게 우리 도시에 한국 장소가 있는지 물었습니다. 그녀의 답변은 부정적이었습니다. 하지만 그녀는 제가 한국 장소의 주소를 구글에서 검색하는 것을 도와주었습니다. 제가 알고 있는 정보와 주소, 그리고 우리 도시에서 한국 장소를 찾아 전 세계를 여행하고 싶다는 제 열망을 바탕으로, 저는 아이들에게 이 흥미진진한 모험에 함께하자고 제안했습니다.

모험을 찾아 떠나는 배낭여행객처럼, 저와 제 아이들은 한국 문화를 직접 만나고자 했던 정신없는 여정을 이렇게 마무리했습니다. 우리는 계속해서 도시를 탐험하며, 이 콘크리트 도시에 숨겨진 위대한 문화의 유산을 계곡, 길, 인도, 그리고 성벽에서 찾아낼 수 있기를 간절히 바랍니다.

En mi post anterior realizado en esta misma comunidad participando en el Concurso #10 <div class="pull-right">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cositav/23xAVapf92fkuvXMGtodhQiT33vQj4S8RDsYv1B8xBRnZNipdwM7mHoJrUCojBTvMErt8.png</div>hablaba de que mi primer encuentro con Corea lo realicé a través del cine con una excelente película llamada **"El día"** relacionada a una temática de ciencia ficción y que a su vez tocaba temas tan transcendentales como el amor, la familia, las relaciones personales, la ética y la capacidad de superar adversidades.

Más allá de esta experiencia con el séptimo arte he oído a mi hija contar sus reseñas sobre algunos Kdramas que ha visto; sin embargo, como no dispongo de mucho tiempo ya que tengo responsabilidades laborales, le dije a mi hija que me recomendara una película, lo cual para mí es mas factible que ver una serie.<div class="pull-left">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/cositav/23tvYHpivw688cY5L6VTNr5rhHkkjM6pKX4NeK82HZM9rA5hmcJZZTumhSF3XwP1usm34.jpg</div> Mi hija me recomendó una película llamada **"Kpop Demon Hunters"**. Ya había escuchado hablar de ella aquí en la Comunidad de la Aldea Coreana y por si fuera poco mi hijo menor también me ha hablado de ella.

No lo pensé mucho y me dediqué a verla. Primero lo que me llamó la atención es que es una película estadounidense pero con raíces coreanas y basada en la cultura, la mitología y  demonología del pueblo coreano.
#
La trama me atrapó desde el primer momento, reúne elementos musicales, dramáticos y culturales muy atractivos. Además posee ese toque de humor y jovialidad que te emociona desde el primer momento.
#
Sin embargo, a pesar de estos significativos encuentros, me propuse tener un encuentro más directo con la cultura coreana y le pregunté a @ismeris una usuaria aquí en Hive que al igual que yo vivimos en Valencia si conocía algún sitio coreano en nuestra ciudad, su respuesta fue negativa, pero me ayudó a buscar por Google algunas direcciones de sitios coreanos y con la información que tenía, las direcciones y mis ganas de recorrer el mundo en busca de algún sitio coreano en mi ciudad, les dije a mis hijos que me acompañaran en esta emocionante aventura.

Emprendimos nuestra fascinante aventura en busca de un contacto coreano en Valencia, fuimos a varios restaurantes asiáticos, visitamos tiendas asiáticas y hasta le pregunté a un grupo de asiáticos si eran coreanos y me dijeron en un español mas perfecto que el mío que eran más venezolanos que **"La Arepa"**

Cuando ya estábamos a punto de darnos por vencidos miré hacia el cielo y vi una infraestructura que podía ser coreana, me alegré mucho, tiene allí todos los años del mundo, tantas veces he pasado pasado por allí y hoy primera vez en mi vida que las detallaba tan bien, no sé si es una infraestructura coreana pero algo de asiática sí tiene.  Así que sin pensarlo mucho, agarré mi celular y fotografié ese pequeño monumento que se alzaba entre las nubes que presagiaban una gran tormenta, como para darle más tragedia y drama a este sublime momento.

Es así como junto con mis hijos cual mochileros en busca de aventuras terminamos nuestra frenética búsqueda de algún contacto directo con la cultura coreana, con ganas de seguir explorando y encontrar en las valles, avenidas, aceras y paredes de la ciudad   parte de algún legado de esta gran cultura escondidos en esta gran ciudad de concreto.
