Mega Onion!!


Hey everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was super chilled, I had a nice curry at family yesterday to celebrate my last two days of my 30's cannot believe I am turning 40 on the 15th, but alas I am told those are among the best decades of your life? Time shall tell. Back to the topic at hand. Here I took some nice pics of what can only be described an uber Onion.

I planted these onions by seed June this year. Onions really do take forever to grow 6 months at least. Plant in Winter when its cold and harvest around December which I am planning to do !

These are going to seed, this can happen for a plethora of reasons, low nutrients in the soil, weather too hot or naturally just the natural reproductive process for procreation.

These boots are made for walking and walk I shall haha, in my gumboots. These really are fantastic for walking though mud, sand etc they wash easily, I use these daily in my garden!

The flowers of onion plants are terribly pretty as above, bees love them too. This flowering stalk is literally 3 times the length of the rest of the onions in the area, rather spectacular indeed.

Check out this Mega Onion with the rest in the area, chalk and cheese comparatively. In the backdrop we have the fruit orchard with everything from Apples, To Persimmons, Nectarines to Oranges and more. We truly are blessed to be able to eat such incredible array of organic fruit and vegetables straight out of the garden.

In this vegetable patch, Carrots, Chilli's, Sweet Pepper's, Sweet Basil, Kale, Spinach and more..

Nature truly is incredible. I shall harvest these seeds from these onion plants in a month odd and plant again around next April.

I had most of my onions bolt to seed this year. They also got some sort of fungus that rotted them in the ground. Still trying to figure out what’s goin on. 
Your Garden is looking great though!

Hey bruv its my first try with onions I water daily too much? They all seem to going to bolt does that mean we can still dig up and harvest? Garlic this year also my first time with garlic epic fail. Small very small but edible ;) Cheer$;)
