## Context


We are almost celebrating the 4th anniversary of the global collapse of SARS-COV2. At that time, we improvised many things in order to allow activities to be carried out remotely whenever possible.


Here at home it was no different, and we had a hard time as we don't have an office environment. At that time, I used the dining table to set up my traveling office, which was removed before each meal.


But that will be in the past, now that I decide to purchase an office desk, which will be placed next to the bed, replacing the nightstand (simple counter) and thus creating my special corner.


Literally a little corner, as I will have 80cm to mount my notebook and anything else I need to do my work. But I'm convinced it's better than perpetuating kitchen table improvisation!

## Budgets


Taking into account the maximum space I would have available, and using as a guide the housekeeper's (my wife's) decision to use furniture in shades of black, the search for the ideal piece of furniture began.


First, I did a simple Google search, letting the algorithm work for a few minutes and then I started receiving recommendations for office desks of all sizes and shapes.


In a quick visual selection, I accessed links that took me to Amazon.

I confess that I have my favorite online stores. Among these, I would only look on Amazon. That's what I did, and soon after I decided on this table model. The top would be the exact width of my space, maximizing use. And at 50cm it would be much more than enough for other equipment, in addition to the notebook.


A quick search for the table model returned me a better value on the MercadoLivre website.

At the promotional value of USD 36.60, I made the purchase, without shipping costs.

## Delivery and Return


MercadoLivre invested a lot in logistics to become a headache for any retailer in Brazil. He can cross the country and make deliveries in a few days, or a few hours. It has distribution centers spread strategically.


It didn't take long for me to receive the package!

I checked other details and realized that I could not accept this product as there was irreparable damage! I noticed that the Styrofoam protection on one side was not suitable for the size of the box.

But does not stop there! Not only had one of the corners been destroyed in a probable crash or fall, but there was also a huge paint failure! What should have been matte black actually had a white stripe across one side, with no paint, just a white background!

#### The product has two defects


1. Factory defect: paint failure on one side of the top allows you to see the matte white background.


2. Physical damage: product physically damaged at some stage of the process between production and delivery. It doesn't matter to me at which stage it occurred, the damage exists and the product is not in perfect condition. I checked the ad and it is a new product, so it must be in perfect condition.


#### About damaged packaging


Externally, the cardboard packaging showed damage in one of the corners. Removing the side Styrofoam, we can see in the photo that the physical damage was significant, and a piece of the top was stuck to the Styrofoam!




The Styrofoam side protections were insufficient for the dimensions of the top. We can see in the photo that a sheet of Styrofoam that was too small was used to protect the edges of the top. The photo shows the Styrofoam sheet being too small, causing the entire edge of the top to be exposed, unprotected.




No bubble wrap was used anywhere. The use of Styrofoam proved to be inefficient and in my opinion this is due to the fact that it saved money:
- Quantity: A rectangle has six sides, but only 5 sides were protected: 4 sides + 1 top. So there was no Styrofoam in the entire product, leaving areas unprotected.
- Weight: the Styrofoam used was very thin.


In any case, physical damage has no relevance when we look at the factory defect where the product waspoorly finished with paint defect extremely visible in the photos!


Given all of this, I have no other option but to return the defective product and ask for my money back!

## Contexto

Já estamos quase fazendo aniversário de 4 anos do colapso mundial do SARS-COV2. Naquela época, improvisamos muitas coisas de forma a permitir realizar atividades remotamente sempre que possível.

Aqui em casa não foi diferente, e passamos um grande aperto pois não temos um ambiente de escritório. Naquele período, eu utilizava a mesa de jantar para montar meu escritório itinerante, que era removido antes de cada refeição.

Mas isso vai ficar no passado, agora que decido adquirir uma mesa de escritório, que será alocada ao lado da cama, substituindo o criado mudo (balcão simples) e fazendo assim meu cantinho especial. 

Literalmente um cantinho, pois terei 80cm de para montar meu notebook e qualquer coisa a mais que eu precise para realizar meu trabalho. Mas estou convencido que é melhor do que perpetuar o improviso da mesa da cozinha!

## Orçamentos

Levando em conta o espaço máximo que eu teria disponível, e usando como balizador a decisão da governanta ( minha esposa) pelo uso de móvel em tons de preto, sai a busca do móvel ideal. 

Primeiramente verifiquei uma busca simples no google, deixando o algoritmo trabalhar por alguns minutos e assim comecei a receber recomendações de mesas de escritório de todos os tamanhos e formatos.

Em uma rápida seleção visual, acessei links que me levaram ao Amazon.

Confesso que tenho minhas lojas online preferenciais. Dentre essas, eu só olharia na Amazon mesmo.  Foi o que fiz, e logo em seguida decidi por este modelo de mesa. O tampo teria a largura exata do meu espaço, maximizando o uso. E com 50cm seria muito mais do que suficiente para outros apetrechos, além do notebook.

Uma busca rápida pelo modelo de mesa me retornou um valor melhor no site MercadoLivre.

## Entrega e Devolução

O MercadoLivre investiu muito em logística para se tornar uma dor de cabeça a qualquer lojista no Brasil. Ele consegue atravessar o país e fazer entregas em poucas dias, ou poucas horas. Possui centros de distribuição espalhados estrategicamente.

Não demorou para que eu recebesse o pacote!

Verifiquei outros detalhes e percebi que não poderia aceitar esse produto pois haviam danos irreparáveis! Percebi que a proteção de isopor em um dos lados não era adequada ao tamanho da caixa.

Mas não para por ai! Não só um dos cantos havia sido destruído em uma provável batida ou queda como também havia uma enorme falha de pintura! O que deveria ser preto fosco na verdade tinha uma faixa branca em toda uma lateral, sem tinta, apenas com o fundo na cor branca!

#### O produto apresenta dois defeitos

1. Defeito de fábrica: falha na pintura em uma das laterais do tampo permite ver o fundo branco fosco.

2. Dano físico: produto danificado fisicamente em alguma etapa do processo entre a produção e a entrega. A mim não interessa em que etapa ocorreu, o dano existe e o produto não está em perfeito estado. Verifiquei o anúncio e trata-se de produto novo, portanto deve estarem perfeitas condições.

#### Sobre embalagem danificada

Externamente a embalagem em papelão mostrou dano em um dos cantos. Removendo o isopor lateral, podemos ver na foto que o dano físico foi significativo, e um pedaço do tampo ficou preso ao isopor!


As proteções laterais em isopor foram insuficiente para as dimensões do tampo. Podemos ver na foto que foi utilizada uma folha de isopor pequena demais para proteger as bordas do tampo. A foto mostra a folha de isopor pequena demais, fazendo com que toda a borda do tampo fique exposta, desprotegida.


Não foi utilizado plástico bolha em nenhum local. O uso de isopor se mostrou ineficiente e na minha opinião deve-se ao fato que foi economizado:
- Na quantidade: Um retângulo tem seis faces, mas só foram protegidas 5 faces: 4 laterais + 1 tampo. Então não havia isopor em todo o produto, deixando locais desprotegidos.
- Na gramatura: o isopor utilizado foi muito fino.

De qualquer forma, o dano físico não tem qualquer relevância quando observamos o defeito de fábrica onde o produto foi mal acabado com defeito na pintura extremamente visível nas fotos!

Diante de tudo isso não me resta outra opção se não devolver o produto defeituoso e solicitar meu dinheiro de volta!
