<H3>Traditionally, the daughters of Asher had a reputation for great physical *and* spiritual beauty.</H3>

Anna had probably "married up," becoming the wife of a highly respected priest. But, as with us all, [**"time and chance"**](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+9:11&version=ESV) had taken their toll. Her husband had died early in their marriage, and age had clothed her beauty in wrinkles.

Anna, now an *elderly widow,* was a prophetess, and consequently spent most of her life in the temple, worshiping God.
