As many will remember, after the launch of the new LeoFinance interface, a new curation system called **[Curation [Revamped] 2.0](https://leofinance.io/posts/leofinance/a-complete-overhaul-to-curation-on-leofinance-be-active-and-earn-big-upvotes-32m-hp)** was created in our community, this system offers 6 ways for our lions to reach the vote of our curator account (aka @leo.voter). One of those ways is precisely Twitter (recently rebranded as X).

Twitter curation (I still need to call it that) is one of the most important in my consideration as it is the only one (at the moment) with the ability to capture external Hive views to LeoFinance. More views means more LeoAds revenue and in short: more revenue for $LEO stakeholders. Apart from the economic aspect, this way also helps to make our own content and our community in general more visible.

That is why, as one of those responsible ( together with my colleague @tsunsica) for carrying out this task, I wanted to write this post where I will seek to point out what are the main mistakes that lions are making when it comes to sharing their Leo content on Twitter. I will also offer you examples of how it should be done (from my humble opinion) so you can maximize your reach and help LeoFinance along the way. Who knows? Maybe by following [these recommendations](https://leofinance.io/posts/anomadsoul/curation-on-leo-finance-twitter-outreach) you will achieve a higher % of votes as a reward for your effort and dedication.

#### Without further delays, let's take a look at those mistakes:

**1st (and most common) mistake:** Sharing your Leo article through one single tweet. 

This is the most common error I have noticed, and in my opinion it is due to several factors:

- **It is the easiest and quickest thing to do**, but at the same time it is the most ineffective because the Twitter algorithm punishes without mercy tweets that include a link. They are considered spam (because that's what most of them are) and therefore their visibility is reduced to a minimum.

- **It was what we learned from the POSH project**. Many will remember that, until relatively recently, by sharing our Hive content on Twitter and including the #hive and #posh tags, we had a chance to earn OCD's prized $POSH tokens... well, it turns out that this is NOT the best way to share our content.

The best thing to do is to create a Twitter thread of at least 3 tweets and include the link to your article in the last tweet of the thread. Take advantage of the first two tweets to tell what your article is about and peak your readers' curiosity.

**2nd mistake (also very common):** Put #hive and #leofinance tags in the first tweet of your thread.

It's no a secret that big companies seek to silence our cause and consequently tolerate NOTHING that promotes the adoption of another platform in their own (they want to keep their users and we want to attract them to Leo). Unfortunately, when we are on Twitter we are playing in someone else's field, so we must play by their rules and seek strategic advantage.

A good strategy is precisely NOT to use #hive or #leofinance tags when sharing your content, at least not in the first tweet. Instead it would be better to use tags that are directly related to the content of your post and therefore help you reach a target audience. People who are really interested in your topic are more likely to click on your link.

**3rd mistake (a mistake that fills me with pride):** Composing your Twitter threads as if they were LeoFinance Threadstorms.

Let me and explain this mistake in more detail because I'm seeing it a lot lately. There is a structural difference between a [🧵] Twitter thread and a [🧵] LeoFinance thread (commonly known as Threadstorms) and apparently many lions don't know it, maybe because they have never done Twitter life and learned how to make [🧵] threads in LeoFinance from the new interface.

Sound like a tongue twister? Let's go again: 

To make a threadstorm on LeoFinance you need to post a first thread, then reply to that first one with a second, third, fourth thread (how many you want and need). Always responding to that first one. This is how they were conceived by Leo's development team.

And well it turns out, now that I search for Leo content almost daily, I find a lot of lions doing their Twitter [🧵] threads in the same way. I called it the Threadstorm Effect 😅. 

The correct way to make a Twitter thread is to post a first tweet, then reply to that with a second tweet, then a third tweet replying to the second, and so on... always replying to the last one. That guarantees you order and good structure in your threads [🧵].

Sometimes I see this mistake a bit adorable, because it means that LeoFinance is setting a precedent, but seriously... some people should pay attention to that detail.

Let's analyze the following example to understand it better.

Apparently it's fine, its author used images, tags that match the text and at the end of it all he leaves the link to his article on LeoFinance, but notice what happens between the 4th and the last tweet. It is interspersed with a comment (which I left him myself). Imagine if he received more comments? can the thread be read properly when there are sandwiched messages? Of course not, and that happens because from the beginning he did not structure his thread correctly. All messages respond to the first one, including the one I left him, so Twitter places them at the same level of hierarchy. Even, my comment has higher priority than his last tweet (because it contains an external and mine an image).

The correct way to build a Twitter thread and therefore reach a larger audience is as follows (see image below):

Now you know where most lions are failing when they share their Leo content on Twitter. Take advantage of this post to do a better job and help LeoFinance, and yourself, achieve greater visibility on Twitter with your content.

Don't forget to include tags related to your article, avoid generic hashtags like 'leofinance' or 'hive', create Twitter threads instead of simple tweets, pay attention to the structure and pique the readers' curiosity, don't do it just to opt-in for curation (it can be noticed and looks pretty ugly).
