That is one of the biggest real world problems that is solved with Blockchain.   With YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat.....etc you don't have true ownership of your account or you funds in the case of YouTube.     Facebook is one of the worst viruses I have ever seen.  Worse than Wannacry.   Don't ever have Facebook on a phone that you have connected to the cellular network.  It will try to steal your phone number and connect everything.

Hi @crypt0 , thanks for sharing your situation with facebook. Lets think about the good part of this. You will never use a centralized site anymore to post your life stuff. You will always use platforms like steem, dlive, dtube and others were there is no censorship with someone like facebook taking out or blocking your account.

The era of this centralized enpowered companies is going to end, and the power of decentralization will grow, once mainstream is achieved, and this will be when more people start to understand what is the difference of centralized and decentralized, and the new global revolution that is taking place with cryptos.

Your identity, government id is not you. I have more or less not used facebook for the last 2 years, deleted distant friends and people have been deleting me, since I am too controversial for them (anarcho capitalism and flat earth)... so actually now my facebook is down to 23 friends and I had 100s 2 years ago... I didn't even check who those 23 are, since 2 years ago I mostly decided to use Steemit for social media interactions and if the people didn't follow I just lost contact, atleast until they follow.. then I kept using messenger on a daily basis, sending links to posts and youtube videos, plus my thoughts to friends, family and people I wanted to contact in general, basically I am now almost completely out of facebook.

In other words the combination messenger, steemit and youtube, works pretty well for me... facebook have way to many limitations, settings and all kinds of bs, that it is a waste of time.

Centralized networks like Facebook control much more than many know and what they disclose.  We must look to support decentralized alternatives that STEEM can provide to engage socially like you want to.  The STEEM ecosystem has already proven to have capabilities to scale and be developed on.  This could be a potential project that a future SMT can attend to.

Man, I feel with you! I would say: do not put your videos on Youtube. Use Dlive. Because Youtube can also put your videos down. From now on use only apps on the blockchain.

You are right because a lot of people create their whole businesses on Facebook ads, Facebook Groups and put their content up there. 

And when something like this happens you feel you really need a list with names and emails of your people at least. So you can point them to another place.

I would always ask people for their names and emails and have my own list in my email marketing system. Because if you only have them in Facebook groups, as likes on your Facebook pages you do not own that data. You might have paid a lot of money to bring those people there but facebook can always take you down.

Lets start using apps on the blockchain. Lets not log in with Facebook and Google anymore.

I recently joined ONSTELLAR which is like a hybrid between SteemIt and Facebook. It is a brand new platform that still has a lot of room for growth, but I like it so far.

It is  site for metaphysical enthusiasts, so you might not be into it unless you like those topics. There are crypto communities on that platform, you would have a good presence there.

I shut down FB several months ago.  The danger of centralized platforms is significant and real which is why no one should put time into these.
