## INTRODUCTION

Several days ago I decided to make a little "experiment" and I offered small delegations to all those in need who struggle with low resource credit (RC) limits on a daily basis. My aim was to support mostly several people sharing similar interests towards crypto, blockchain technology, AI or human psychology. My impression at that time was that lately (since HF20 has been introduced) Steemit platform turned into a ghost town and I didn't really expect much interests. For that reason my initial budget was to delegate a total of 1200SP.

However, the final results and enormous engagement absolutely blew my mind. Almost 160 people resteemed my post and more than 120 requested my support. The amount of comments (half of it are obviously my replies) has been insane. Just look at the little print screen below:

## MY BUDGET EXPLODED

I realized right way that my initial budget of 1200SP will be not enough though. Since my goal was to support everyone meeting some basic requirement with 40SP (I know, I know. That's not enough to increase anyone’s voting power but it's definitely enough to allow those users to comment/post quite freely without being restricted by low RC limits). 

Thanks to the support from a few friends I managed to increase the budget to 2400SP which turned out also to be not enough. I had to purchase quite a solid amount of STEEM myself to be able to keep my promise. Luckily, the current price of STEEM is super low; otherwise I would most likely go bankrupt :)

## I'M SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG

Most of you guys had to wait almost 2 weeks to receive those delegations. Please accept my honest apology that it took so long. I did my best to read every comment and reply to each one of you. On top of that I had to verify which users are actually engaging with others, needed to check if they indeed require my support and on top of that if they blogged about crypto etc. 

At the end it took me a total over 30 hours to do so. And by the end (few days since I started) I felt like a Zombie. My brain has been half dead already and all I even dreamed about was Steemit :) I may need a few days break to recharge and allow my eyes to recover.

## AM I AI?

One of those days someone asked me if I'm a real human or perhaps I'm an advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence). That  obviously made me laugh and also made me think for a moment about Elon Musk. Not that I am comparing myself to him. Oh god, no. I'm only his humble fan.

The story with Elon is that some people asked him several times if he is an alien. Out of this world. I guess this question if I'm an AI made me think about that particular story :)

So let me clarify it right here and now. I'm a real human. Made from blood and bones. And I only decided to commit myself fully to Steemit spending almost an entire day and night engaging with people because of my current life situation. As many of you know I got married lately but since my visa expired soon after our marriage I had to leave country and Im in the process of securing the correct visa. Unfortunately, processing paperwork is a nightmare and it takes time, so I ended up being separated from the love of my life for a period of several weeks.

I could simply sit down and cry (which I did at some point, but it didn't help a bit) or keep myself busy. So yeah, I figured that engaging with people on Steemit day and night will be best solution to stay distracted. 

## DELEGATIONS EXTENDED

I figured that having my support for only 6 weeks could not make much of a difference; therefore my decision is to extend all those delegations by one month. Till the end of feb 2019. Obviously in case of lack of user activity for a week or two I reserve the right to remove delegation, so if you're planning to go for holiday etc. then please send me message (email / memo etc). Hope I'm being fair.

They seem to understand that creating quality content without engaging with their audience is just like preparing great  dinner for your guests and telling them "please enjoy" and leaving the room. It just doesn't work in the long run.

Quality content is not enough to attract attention any more. If you want people to spend their own time reading your publications and commenting then you need to give them something in return. Simple as that. If you cannot reward them with $$$ then the best you can do is to invest your own time and show your own support in the first place.

(please do not cheat :P).

Hello @crypto. Piort I don't think it's a ghost town however low the price of Monea keeps the platform in solitude. Many people just look for economic interest and it is understandable. I thank you and your friends for everything you have done to delegate SP, it is not easy and I understand it. Thank God it was not ruined je, je, je would be worried at this time of being like this. There is nothing to excuse, the wait was necessary, answering so many messages is a great job, deserves a good rest as you say. God is always with us @crypto. The steem blockchain is the perfect place to give charities to people with certain advocacies. Those with commitments, those with ideas to spread with.

The type of giving that will not exhaust your funds, while earning more respect and love from the entire community.

Where are the millionaires, the billionaires? If they got into steem blockchain, buy tons of steem, then help. Just help. Simple right?

Preparations for Christmas are very happy... Many people decorate their houses with light and a big tree... Many people are more happy and living in peace in this season...!!!

Mexico is really safe to live, is too difficult if you don´t have a good job, and that´s the reason many people are looking to live in another city or country..

Sadly the big topic in Mexico is Corruption and Crime... 

Comparing with Venezuela, In this country exist corruption like in Mexico but many people from Venezuela told me that their country is really dangerous and people are on fear .... That´s really sad ...!!!

Most of all I wanted to thank you for being part of my little quest. Engagement we managed to create within our community was quite impressive. I hope some of those new friendships and connections will last longer.

I finally had a chance to check how many people completed my previous small quests and again reality exceeded my expectations.

I counted already 20 people who joined our little venture. I LOVE IT! 

But I've small problem here. Again I didn't anticipate such a support and I don't have enough of SP at the moment to delegate some extra to everyone. Would it be okey if instead of delegating extra 20SP I would extend time of current delegation for another one month? Until end of March 2019?

Let me know if it would be okey.

ps. Im also planning to purchase more STEEM after new year. So if in the future you will struggle with low RC limit then give me a shout and I will see what I can do at that particular moment to help you :)

Well, this is intense! Amazing effort on your part, @crypto.piotr. I took a list of all the people and will follow and help them where I can. But it will take me awhile to complete this task! You are amazing to have gotten through all of this.

I have comments to answer from you, and I am sorry I have not done so yet. I do not know if you have seen my recent posts, but I am in a bad arthritis "flare" and have been out for the count since the amazing outpouring of support about my financial disaster. A big release of stress can trigger a flare and I sure had one.

I'm coming back now to feeling better, but it has been a very hard week physically. I crawl out of bed and work a bit and then stagger back to rest again.

I do want to answer one question I saw you ask somewhere on someone else's post.

SBI - @steembasicincome is a great program here. I got my first share in Dec 2017 and have been hunting them and giving them ever since. It is a great way for new people to get some votes when they just start and only gets better if they work it.

To get shares on your own, you send one steem to sbi in the name of another steemer and then both of you get votes from sbi forevermore. I have maybe 60 shares now and the vote is a good one on each and every post I publish. SBI adjusts the value based on your level of activity each week.

I enter contests for sbi shares and win often. Then I give them as prizes in my own contests I run twice a month or so. It is steemit's version of universal basic income, if you know what that is. People with a lot of shares get really big votes.

Dear @crypto.piotr, I am really very grateful for your support, also for the enormous effort to support people who really need it "after all steemit is not a ghost town" thanks to people like you and initiatives like yours, in my case not I only have problems of credits to publish and to comment but also with Internet (I am in Venezuela). As you may have noticed I have very little steempower, my publications do not have the highest rewards either, which limits me as much in resources as in motivation and incentive to remain active, however thanks to what you do I can continue doing this that has become more than in a source of income in a motivation (the rewards of steemit do not guarantee me the Christmas dinner hahaha).
Continue doing what you do God will reward you, you are a person with a big heart. For my part I will continue trying to maintain the commitment with you and trying to meet the challenges you propose. Blessings friend!

@crypto.piotr going back to your first impression about steem after the hf2 that really blows your mind right, its because, since the hardfork, many of the steemians have went into the sidelines, went to "seen"mode only, as they struggle to accumulate more sp, and making new idea for content, which have been exhausted already. 

But putting up quality content, showing to the world who we are, our ideas, or minds into the blockchain, doesn't diminishes in the lack of sp, WE ARE JUST HERE WAITING for opportunities, still engaging in the best that we can be. 

Fortunately, steem has alot of dapps we can choose from to sustain our engagement, and your delegation help us alot to be more creative in using this blockchain.

Am truly grateful to your kindness, and your ideas of focusing more for the red fish that we are, because, as I notice, we the red fish, are like laborers, the dirt worker of the steem blockchain industry/economy.

Heeellooo my dear friend!

I'll try to do my best but the electric system and my isp are against all odds. They are making my life a mess... more than 12 hours without electricity depress anyone... 

Definitely, the world without these two systems would return to the time of the caverns.

I'm answering your comment with my 250kbps cellphone data system and only have 700 Kbytes of bandwidth. Only for comments and emails.

I hope you don't mind my little off-topic comment.

Most of all I wanted to thank you for being part of my little quest. Engagement we managed to create within our community was quite impressive. I hope some of those new friendships and connections will last longer.

I finally had a chance to check how many people completed my previous small quests and again reality exceeded my expectations.

I counted already 20 people who joined our little venture. I LOVE IT! 

But I've small problem here. Again I didn't anticipate such a support and I don't have enough of SP at the moment to delegate some extra to everyone. Would it be okey if instead of delegating extra 20SP I would extend time of current delegation for another one month? Until end of March 2019?

Let me know if it would be okey.

ps. Im also planning to purchase more STEEM after new year. So if in the future you will struggle with low RC limit then give me a shout and I will see what I can do at that particular moment to help you :)

How far will you go? You made your initial proposal, then you doubled it, now you offer not just one but two extra benefits. You do not stop surprising.

EXTRA MILE QUEST COMPLETED

Here we go. I did visit everyone on the list and was sad to see that there were only 3 women represented.

There were a few that hadn't posted in a long time. Some made up for that in comments and I followed those but others only replied to comments on their posts and didn't reach out to the community at all. those, I didn't follow.

Thank you for your effort and maybe in the future, there can be an effort like that aimed to support more women on this platform.

I feel you. Steemit mostly seem to attract guys (nerds, geeks etc). Ladies are not so present here. I wonder why? :P

Reality is that there is very few women on this platform. I would say that surely less than 10% of population here is famale. Remaining are either guys, companies, bots, spam etc.

But if you would try you push your idea and support group of women, then I will surely help you promote your action :)

Quests are an incredible idea to engage the community @crypto.piotr. If it comes to AI I also sometimes have a feeling that human isn't capable of replying to 400 comments (your article about delegation), especially as I have noticed how time-consuming this activity can be when I replied to about 100 comments under my last article :P

Thank you Piotr! It was fascinating to see the engagement you got and inspiring to do a similar thing, but on a smaller scale.  If everyone who can spare some SP, delegates it to 2 new users the user base will grow a lot faster. I'm trying a more modest approach so I don't kill my VP. I start with 100SP and slowly reduce that to 50SP and once I get to that point I will delegate another 100SP for another new user and repeat the process of reducing it to 50SP. This way I provide long term support while adding a new user to the pool as my ability to support others also grows. I'll see how that works out and adjust the numbers up or down as needed. One of the reasons I do it this way is because I want to motivate the folks I support to sell their SBD and power up their own Steem.

I just got back home from a 5 day long holiday, the 8 hour drive back was a killer :(

All that being said, I'm very sorry to here about your visa issues my friend. Having just recently gotten married to a Malaysian as US citizen I really empathise with you. 

I'm waiting out the 6 month period to apply for the spousal visa, the paperwork and bureaucratic hoops to get married alone were challenging.

If you feel like discussing the personal stuff please find me on discord or @partiko, there is a slim chance I can pull some ministry strings. I do know some heavy hitters personally here.

I love that you had such a turn out. I restores some faith in the platform, that people do want it to succeed and grow.  I keep telling myself one day when I grow up I am going to do the same thing.  I had hoped for 1 yr anniversary I would have been able to so something like this.  It will come.

Thanks for pointing me at the interesting content! I have some connection problems, but will respind and keep my eyes at the Steemians you mentioned.
I will first start paying all of them a visit, no matter how long it takes. I am not sure if I understand all of it you are writing about but I will let you know.

Uhm, at least I think I did 2 days ago, but... I add everyone on your list plus leave a comment everywhere. 
I started at the end of the list working myself up _(probably everybody starts at number 1)_ to the top. 
I think everybody needs some attention. 
By now I just need to pay the last 6 (your first 6) a visit. Btw I noticed some do not seem to be active in the past days/weeks or just resteem. So I am searching for a post they wrote themselves even if it is longer ago. There are 2 or 3 I am not able to read because of the language, but even then I left a comment. 
So I guess I join both of your quests or even completed them by now? Btw for the biggest part I also did upvote and I shared or/and resteemed, which means I am a bit less active since I need to "recover".

Good to hear I made you laugh. Happy day, with or without annoying paperwork.
Ps might be you are a super human, but home come if I finish your quests it makes your life easier?

Though many sees the steem blockchain as leaning toward to be more a business/gaming model, but for me, this is a good platform for giving.
Think it as charity, give upvotes, delegate steempower. Let the red fish/minnows be inspired.

other than putting tons of money for speculative trading, if anybody out there is a millionaire or a billionaire, why not buy more steem power delegate and give upvotes, curate, boost communities on steem.

Isn't it a good charity work this Christmas season right?

I need to use some of my small sp to help some folks as well. We should talk about how we can organize minnows such as myself to gather and follow your lead.

I see all responses. Or at least Im trying to do. The way I see it is: that it would verz be disrespectful to that towards you or anyone else who reached out to me, read my post and dropeed comment. 

My simple rule is that I do not post anything new until I repied to everyone. Plus I always check each person profile looking for people who share similar interest. I believe that it's the very reason why each of my post is enjoying such an huge engagement.

Im aware that I do not create most valuable content and my english may not be the best. And I'm not even very knowledgable. But I treat every new contact like a small investment in my future :)
