Another one bites it.

Man can hardly say I didn't see this coming. The minute Ned started mass selling and denying the fact that he was I knew something was up. Sad that a project with so much potential gets reduced to a hopeful community project because the ones with the power mismanaged funds. Hope that a new group comes in and really makes an impact because I would hate to see this become another one for the pile of failures. 

Side note: What Ned did should not be overlooked as it is basically a soft exit scam.

It is indeed a strange move. I cannot imagine that it has something to do with the seperation from the frontend (steemit.com) from the blockchain into a seperate company.
Still I do wonder how mcuh impact that this will have on the future. It all will depend on the progress of the SMTs!
Still I did power up today. Steem will easily be capable of climbing back to at least a $!

Thanks for sharing.  I'm trying to learn more on what is taking place.  I love Steemit and sad how it is disintegrating in front of us.  I must be the only one on this platform who bought steem and never powered down.

Lots of people had strong beliefs in the project as it was genuinely a great idea. The issue was that the ones at the top were not apt to share the wealth and in the end couldn't be bothered to keep the charade going.
