**Vettel needs to walk away from Ferrari immediately as he is not being given any help to succeed. Hitting Mattia Binotto over the head will have no effect as I believe he is brainless.**



Yesterday I did a post about Red Bull and how they have to keep on thinking regarding their race strategy. When you don't have the car to win a race sometimes out thinking your rivals does create new opportunities if not to win but do better than you should have.

Ferrari were a class act a decade or more ago and yesterdays Barcelona Grand Prix showed how far they have fallen. They are a second rate outfit with only their name giving them any respect. The car is woeful and their strategy is even worse. They clearly have no clue and it looks as though it is a mixture of arrogance and ignorance holding them back.

**Pirelli's guide for the lifespan of the various tyres was 40 laps for medium and 30 laps for the soft tyre.**


Looking at the tyre usage Vettel was not a priority with Ferrari as firstly he was double stacked in a pit stop favoring Charles Leclerc as Vettel had to wait his turn. Once LeClerc abandoned the race with electronic failure only then did the team consider Vettel as he was their only hope.

**Double stacking Seb making sure he doesn't finish above LeClerc. This is just so obvious and believe this has been happening since last season already.**


At his pit stop he was given a set of used soft tyres from qualifying when he still had a set of new ones available to him. He started on the medium tyres and had completed only 29 laps when they ordered him in. Those tyres have a guide of around 40 laps from Pirelli so what was the urgency. To then stick a used set on surely meant he was going to pit again and have some fresh rubber for the closing 15 laps or so.

**High time he walks away or does his own strategy as this lot are a bunch of clowns.Everyone just seems to be on the LeClerc page and there is no page for Vettel.**


Vettel did ask the team what they would like him to do regarding the speed of his laps. The faster you go the quicker the tyre will deteriorate so knowing the plan would make it easier to manage the tyres. The race enginerr replied to Sebastiens question 4 laps later saying it would be advisable if he could take those tyres to the end of the race.

Frustration as this shows how clueless they are. Vettel agreed to see if he could manage this as now tyres planned for 30 laps must now be made to last 36 laps. If this was the plan then why didn't they give him a new set at least and not handicap him?

What this tells me is that for Vettel there was no plan A or B or even C as there was no plan. Any strategy they had was for LeClerc and Vettel is left to fend for himself. The team doesn't care and has no pride otherwise they would never act in this way.

Vettel has two choices and I do believe carrying on till the end of the season is not in his best interest. He should walk away with his head held high as it is clearly obvious the team doesn't want him around.How can a 4 time World Champion be treated in this way is beyond me. Heads need to roll and it should start with the man in charge of the team Mattia Binotto. Mattia may be good as an engineer but as a Race Team Principal he is way out of his depth.
