How Big Can We Grow Our Bags?

Looking at my portfolio today I am trying to get an idea of how big these bags can become over the next 3 years. If the [Crypto](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency) Cycle stays true to form then we have roughly 3 and a bit years before we start to see the all time highs again ([ATH](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-all-time-high-ath)).

This is pleasantly reassuring considering how much growth ahs already happened over the course of this year and to multiply that growth by 2 or 3 x would be quite staggering. Who knows how much growth is possible but at least we can die trying.

The one target I had penciled in achieving sometime in November this year and that target has already been achieved by an extra 15%. That is staggering as this is only over a 6 month period with 2 months to spare. Throw in the compounding with a possible increase in [APR](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-annual-percentage-return-apr) and the growth starts to really take off. If you can throw in a few dollars regularly this starts to go into beast mode and rapidly grows beyond all expectations.

A place like [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive) is what you make of it as it is all up to you how busy and consistent you are. The more involved you become the more you will eventually earn. This doesn't always happen this way however so trying to predict targets when you are relying on others is never a good idea. I am hoping to have over 100K HP by the time the next [ATH](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-all-time-high-ath) reaches and believe that is realistic as that would be below the average [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-is-hive-crypto-hive) earned thus far over the previous 54 months.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a yearly chart on [Hive Stats](https://hivestats.io/) instead of just a 7 day and 30 day chart. I know I could easily double check then against the graph to monitor my growth over a longer period of time. We need to use all the tools available to us in order to improve.

Over the next 3 years or so is the unknown factors which we have no control over. I am hoping 2023 is more of a sideways movement with very little price movement as that is the best and easiest time to grow. The first 9 months of this year have really shown what is possible and if we can have another 24 months of that it could be life changing.

I have put together some dream targets which I never thought were possible hopefully these will coincide with the [ATH's](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-all-time-high-ath) in 3 or more years time. Then the only problem is what do you do then as many have said I should sell and take advantage of the prices. That is the smart money talking with the possibilities of buying back in cheaper when the bottom falls out again.

This is something I purposefully never did the last time around as the portfolio was just too small. I can see the difference already and holding this next time would not be ultra smart and the plan has to be to take some profits at least.

When you have a decent sized portfolio worth 100's of thousands of dollars or far more I can understand how depressing it must feel seeing it dwindle down by 80 or 90%. having had a massive (for me) $250K crypto value in November and now $50K ish or there abouts the next one would sting a little more. I am not going to go down with the ship next time around and will no doubt be heavily reliant on our [HBD](https://leofinance.io/@crypto-guides/what-are-hive-backed-dollars-hbd) wallet. Nothing comes close to this outside and it will be the perfect hidey hole when the markets are a little rough whilst earning the [APR](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-annual-percentage-return-apr).

yeah, I am with you. I am going to be taking some calculated gains into stables next time around.  My goal right now is to get my HBD savings to the point that I am earning 100 HBD per month.  I won't stop there though.  That's just a number I want to see.  The sky is really the limit in terms of how much I put into HBD savings.

I'm putting some of my HBD into CUIB at the moment to try and make higher gains to swap back onto the hive blockchain when the rewards stack up a bit higher.

Other than that it's all about splinterlands and hive. Stay busy and stay active and those accounts will keep growing.

100K HP will eventually hold tremendous value, provided we are not struck by some devastating swan event. I think HIVE can hit $10 next cycle, perhaps higher. I mean, it hit $3.41 in 2021... it's really not a big ask at all, relatively speaking.

Taking profits is important, the same thing happened to me, I had a large part of my assets in BTC, I didn't sell and went way down along with the fall. You learn after something like that happens to you. 

And I agree that we are in a great position, we can accumulate a lot, for when the bullish season comes, to see the big rewards fruits.
