I do think monitoring your growth is a must do for anyone involved on Hive or on any crypto project you are involved in. Seeing the growth should inspire you to do more as who doesn't like earning more. Stake generates more stake so the growth rate should continue to rise. The first 6 months is a slow grind and then somehow growth does start to pick up and continues to increase due to the compounding affect which does become more obvious the longer you are involved with Hive. Just stick with it and never give up as this is a special place. 

Hive is unlike other crypto projects and why it is advisable to monitor your growth as the more you do the more you will earn over time. The accounts that stick with Hive staying active will be the most successful over time. 

When I joined Hive many moons ago the most important part of my growth was the monitoring. I say this as you need to physically see the growth to keep motivated. Hive is challenging at the best of times so having tools that keep you motivated and engaged is that important. One could compare it to someone on diet without a bathroom scale to monitor how well or how bad they are doing.

Most of us are creatures of habit and how I monitor my growth is by the Hive vote value on [HiveStats](https://hivestats.io/). My account vote value has been hovering around the 3.85 and 3.95 value for about 3 months and finally last night it ticked over the 4 Hive mark. This represents over 5 years of monitoring growth and is just another milestone achieved along the way. Achieving a 5 hive vote value may still be a year away which is why we track our growth as this encourages you to keep growing as the dollar value is not advisable to track due to the volatility of crypto.

I chose the vote value over the graphs as it simplifies things as you know you are growing anyway just by turning up each day. I see the vote value as the real wealth on Hive as it directly reflects your stake. Even though I have been on Hive for 5 years already I still see this as only the beginning with many more years lying ahead. The aim to to one day have a 10 Hive vote value so I am now only 40% of the way.

This may not sound like much but having 4 Hive as your vote value when Hive is at $5 is a big deal. $20 votes x 10 per day would generate $3K per month for those that I support along the way and $3K for myself. This would be generating an income for just liking somehting and supporting those in the community. 

At the end of the day any growth is good growth as everyday we are stacking more which will get you even closer to the targets you have in mind. Keep stacking and the dollar values will show themselves ever so often and this will justify the work and time you have committed to hive or the other crypto projects.
