**@arcange stats are always great to see as it gives us an idea of where we are on a daily basis. The hardest part is the growing part and understanding as this takes time. All of this depends on how active and lucky you are plus if you have invested or not. This is with no investment and loads of time being active every day.**

These are my thoughts on time lines and depend on many variants like time and how you spend that time on the block chain.

Red Fish 500 Hive-less than 1 year
Minnow 1500 Hive -1 year
Dolphin 15 000 Hive-2 plus years
Orca 52 500 Hive 3-4 years maybe 5
Whale 525 000 Hive- many years

These growth times could be tossed away as the tribes have changed what has happened before. One decent post on Leo every few weeks would have you as a minnow in no time, but then again you should be staking in your community where you are receiving support so maybe these timelines are still kind of relative.





I did a post yesterday about how I have stayed with this project for 1000 days and my aim for the next 1000 days. Many users come and go however and there are names I engaged with daily who are no longer around and have fled to greener pastures.

As sad as it is to see them disappear this is not an easy place as it takes time and commitment, serious commitment if you are not investing anything but time. Honestly it was a challenge I took on knowing nothing and got hooked at the same time which helped  as I saw the possibilities. This is not a get rich quick scheme, but just a get rich scheme over a long period of time hopefully. There is nothing quick and easy about this place as firstly it takes months to understand the eco system of how everything works as it is super complicated and a mind bender to wrap your head around.

I thought about time lines and every user will be different on their growth rate and also depends if anything was invested or not. In March is all things go right I would have made Orca which is 52300 Hive staked. A whale is 10 x bigger and no it wont take 30 years to achieve and hoping possibly another 10 -15 years which is a long time. If everything was easy then everyone would be a whale already and the value wouldn't be here so being hard to achieve is a plus I believe. I do think the first stages of your account development are the hardest and getting to the first goal of 5000 Hive is the hardest stage of all.

The more you have staked the easier it becomes as you just earn by having stake. It took me a year to understand curation as my vote was always worthless until it started registering something and only then can you see the earnings start to happen. The potential is endless as long as you stay in the game and don't worry about what other users are doing or earning. They may have invested x amount to begin with and everyone has different earning potential. What you may think is a great post others may not so just keep plugging away.

I received a comment from @captaincryptic on yesterdays post who is a new user and did what any new user should do and that is read as many posts as possible and comment. The commenting and engaging is what helps you grow and that is the secret of this place and nothing else. This takes time and effort and is the only way to grow with no investment.

I believe with the tribes the way they are and the double earning potential the growth period for a new account should be that much quicker these days. I was wondering if all those accounts that left would still be active if they only knew the possibilities we have today. I expect there will be more and more ways of earning that will appear over the coming years making it even more lucrative to just remain active.

I was calculating this morning that you need 1250 Hive to earn a 0.01 vote which should be every new users first target. Another target is the 1 Hive per day on interest which is 10 600 Hive staked and if you make it this far then you should never be thinking of leaving.

The tribes play a key role in retaining new users and I believe because of them many will stay now as the growth potential is here. In the past retention levels were atrocious and only small percentages lasted. There are over 1 .4 million accounts on Hive and yes many are alts of users on here, but many are also abandoned accounts that some may or may not return to in the future. Many of these accounts have failed at the first hurdle and that is where we all need to help new users so they stay, but then again they need to be committed not expecting hand outs as well.
