I don't know about you but it's easy to feel like I haven't accomplished as much as I hoped for at the end of the day. I feel like "I could have accomplished more if I focused better".

While there might be value in questioning our productivity, it can also be a trap where we get down on ourselves and miss the mark of realizing that we are moving forward day by day.

I've been a fan of Strategic Coach and [10X Talk Podcast](https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/10x-talk-joe-polish-dan-sullivan/id550847386?mt=2) for a while. It's a treasure trove of strategies and mindset to grow in every area of business and life, and from that flows the freedom every entrepreneur dreams of. 

## What is the WinStreak® App?

It's a very simple yet very powerful little tool. We live in a world where there’s a lot of negative information. This simple tool is there for making sure that, at the end of every day, we feel positive about our accomplishments and excited for the next day.

### How to use it

>At the end of each day, regardless of what happened, record what your biggest “wins” were. Then, plan what your biggest wins will be for tomorrow. This will keep you focused on your goals while recognizing and celebrating your achievements—or wins—along the way. It’s that easy. Even if you experience setbacks, disappointments, or obstacles during the day, you know you’ll always have wins from today and have a plan to accomplish more wins tomorrow. Tracking your progress in terms of wins will undoubtedly maximize your productivity and kick-start your motivation.

## Memories Are Up to Us
The way we interpret our days is entirely up to us. Would we rather see our days as wins or as losses? It’s a phenomenal breakthrough to realize that we’re in control of the interpretation of the story of our life.

The narrative structure of our life is important. It gives us the springboard of our daily life. Are you looking back with regret, despair or resentment? How about looking back and seeing the valuable lessons you've learn through the school of hard knocks and how you've acquired some Street Smart?

Hi @cryptoctopus,  I feel we are on the same boat when you said, "I could have accomplished more if I focused better". Focusing is the challenge when we are trying to achieve a goal, that's my serious weakness. I hope to see my day as a win and becoming a street smart person altogether.  Again focusing is the key. I have downloaded the WinStreak app, very easy to use.  Just need to have a goal each day that will record my achievements. Tried to check the podcast but it support iphone and not android I think.
Thanks for this very useful advice. I also feel self discipline is a key to success in anything. Wishing you a pleasant day 😊

This is a fascinating idea.  I thought it was going to be a gambling app,  but this is a trillion times better.  My own blog centers on my physical training for a series of competitions,  and in writing and measuring and comparing the different days,  I've absolutely grown as an athlete.... but this app takes all aspects of life - I love that!  I'm going to download it now and start using it... after all,  if you haven't improved on yesterday, what's the point?

I believe if we keep a positive mindset in our lives we can eventually achieve a higher level of productivity and more importantly, maintain it.

These little apps can be super helpful but I personally am often getting distracted by handling them. Ever since I joined Steemit seven months ago nearly all days are automatically a win and I look back and I think I have never been so productive and euphoric inmy entire life. Steem is motivation 10X by itself. :)

It is human tendency that we plan a lot for the day, but at the end of the day we realize that we were unable to do whole work then we start criticizing ourselves. But I would like to suggest that set a plan for the day, give your 100% in it, if you are able to complete it at the end of the day then it is good otherwise don't be so sad and not allow negativity overtake your positive thought. So be positive and be calm and do your work sincerely. Good luck, have a great day.

Hello,

Your last two paragraphs on the importance of the narrative structure of our lives and the agency we have to see ourselves and our circumstances not as victims of fate or chance or lot in life are just so important. I hope others reading catch that. For me personally it brings to mind the whole “know thyself”notion but for me it is even further refined by an idea that we are searched and known by One who knows us ultimately and who sees us with favor. I find that being grounded in that state of being fully known and accepted sets me then free to engage the world and my place within it a bit more honestly and openly... at least that is the aim... the execution of such perhaps a bit more spotty.

For me I am renewed in that narrative structure through prayer practice, for others this app could be a huge help. What strikes me as being the heart of the matter is the person is actually seeking to engage. Too many wounds, too little forward progress... these can often shut people down. Maybe a tracking app and more importantly the string of successes they can build up over time could be just the nudge to help reengage. Good stuff. Peace.

Yeah… Every words here is so true, that's why I had to quote it. Something happened yesterday in school and I missed almost all my classes, when I looked back to how everything started I go very angry because I had plan a day without hurdles. However, things happened that way and I'm not detered. Making sure plans for the days ahead is my only consolation.

Great suggestion, I'll certainly check that out! I am a big fan of To-Do-Lists and have my own morning ritual that helps me keep track of my daily productivity. It's a very post modern oriented app, and I really love postmodernism theories so I guess i like that app too.

The idea of the post modern theory, and way of thinking, is that there is (some would say - ALMOST) nothing definitive. things are what the viewer see they are - and if one decides to see them in a certain way - than for him it's solid reality. 
So in our case, if one has a day some would say is definitely a bad day, objectively so - according to that theory, the person can - by his interpretation, by the way he sees things - make this day into a totally happy and good day, because where does that day exists now that he is over? only in our memory - and if that person remembers that day in  certain way, a good one - that the existence of that past day become good - and it's a reality and not an illusion. You might think that it requires a twist of the events so they will fit what we define as "good", but it's not so - it's a post modern thought remember? so if the person sees it as good - that's all that matters, without interpretation according to our regular standards.

Now - with that app you can implement your good interpretation in somthing more solid than the "thought" itself, and it can be kinda cool and encouraging!

This looks like an excellent app that I am going to try out! I'm currently using an excel sheet to do the same thing, so a mobile app is definitely easier to use and manage.

I will of course listen to the podcast, but i am really interested to track my motivation based on this app - recording your goals and remarking them when achieved is hugely important, and this app may be perfect even for planning your Steemit goals!

Cool, thanks for the tip, will check the app out (assuming it's available on iOS).

I use a bullet journal to keep track of my to do's & daily/weekly goals, which is working really well for me (just web search for details).

I find that attaching small rewards to key goals (which are mini-goals building toward's a main goal) is the way to go. The reward can be anything which motivates you, aside from reaching your goal. For example, I get to watch football (or soccer if you're from US) game on TV tonight if I achieve work-related goal(s) for today. If I don't hit them, I don't watch the game.

We're all individual and are motivated in different ways, but I think the key to success is in cementing new habits, which become learned behaviour after a while. Setting goals and a way to see your progress is a great way to cement good habits.

Insightful @cryptoctopus , At the end we thank failures for making us strong, but what's turly pathetic is that when we experience failure we think that the we won'treach the light and that's an illusion.
what I've learnt is that at some point we might experience anxiety,fear,solitude, depression and confusion but all of this things just prepare us for the next level and I found that without all of this I wouldn't have spent time with myself to heal and rise.  while I was totally confused I was able to tranform all of negativity for my sake. we don't need to regret we need to focus on what's coming just that simple

I will definetely check that app out... That's always my major problem - being focused and being productive. The sad thing is that most of the time I spend in front of the pc so a windows app would help me a lot more but it is not available on microsoft store.

It is a great app and I really like Dan Sullivan's stuff. He also makes some appearances on the "I Love Marketing" with Joe Polish and Dean Jackson which tends to go way beyond marketing. Some really interesting concepts and ideas.

I think he also does a podcast with Dean Jackson on "the joys of procrastination" which sounds at the other end of the spectrum to 10x...!

It is easy to get bogged down in the negativity.  There are times, like daily, that is it important to step back and see the bigger picture.  We get so worked up about what we are trying to accomplish that we fail to see how many little things add up at a lot.  The Japanese have a practice called Kaizan which is basically a lot of small improvements make a huge difference.

I see a great deal of what you are referring to on here.  People want to focus on flag wars, the lack of communication from steemit, and the limitations right now of the site.  They fail to see the big picture.

I did a post this morning about an interview @ned and @heimindanger had the other day.  Talk about big picture.  @ned is looking at where the steem blockchain will be 5 years from now...not next month.  Lots of big ideas.

Overall, most of the people who commented grasped that it is encouraging to see that.  It is amazing what happens when you step back and see the bigger picture.

Oh and by the way, that practice can also alert one to dump something.  I work in an industry that is in decline.  Most in my company, hell the industry in general, have no idea because they are so focused upon this month's and quarter's results.  I am sitting thinking to myself "you people fail to realize most of this industry will be gone in 3 years".

Failure to step back and see the bigger picture.
