Data is the most important resource for any technology. Artificial Intelligence has several hundreds of algorithms that can make computers do things that were once upon a time, unimaginable. But the efficiency and correctness of these algorithms are largely influenced by the data that is fed into them. The more the data, the more the accuracy.
**People usually compare the computer to the head of the human being. I would say that hardware is the bone of the head, the skull. The semiconductor is the brain within the head. The software is the wisdom. And data is the knowledge. - Masayoshi Son**
The data that is used to power AI algorithms are required to be extremely authentic and accurate. But in the current data economy, there is no good way to possibly know if the data source is legit or not and if the data has been tampered with. Access to clean data is very hard and very expensive. There is a huge gap between those who have the resources to access the data they need and those who don't. These limitations are proving to be a hindrance to the field of artificial intelligence and any other domains whose development have major dependencies on data availability and data quality. It is quite clear that there is an imperative need for a data economy that is organised, transparent and most importantly, secure.
**Organised Chaos**
One of the major reasons that the current data economy's system is not so desirable is because it is highly disorganised and chaotic. There is no proper structure that represents the exchange of data between the participants of the data ecosystem. To overcome this, the Quadrant Protocol has been developed to provide structure to the data economy, and enable authenticity of data.
Quadrant Protocol uses blockchain technology to provide a means of creating a decentralised, transparent and secure data economy. Decentralising the economy means there is no central controlling authority, but there is structure. The authenticity of data is guaranteed by using data stamping (hashing techniques), which proves that the data provider is legit and trustable. The protocol provides a blueprint for disparate data sources, which users can use to find the data that they need.

The Quadrant protocol has 4 major participants, and each of them have something to contribute, and something to gain from this decentralised data economy. The "Nurseries", which are the data producers, authenticate their data with data stamps. They are compensated fairly every time their data is used. The "Pioneers", which are the data vendors, are provided incentives to map the disparate data from the nurseries into meaningful groups called "Constellations" which are powered by data smart contracts. "Elons" are responsible for finding links between constellations to perform further grouping to get larger constellations of data which are finally used by the Data Consumers.
Quadrant has two different cryptocurrencies for its network: QUAD and eQUAD. QUAD is the utility token that would be used for all transactions on the network, including data stamping, subscription payments and so on. eQUAD, on the other hand, is for selling at the Token Generation Event and might later be converted to QUAD.
**Revolutionising the Data Economy**
The Quadrant Protocol really revolutionises the way we can access data. The unique and efficient structure of the protocol definitely sets it apart from all its competitors. By using blockchain technology, Quadrant provides a data economy that has authenticity and provenance at its core, something that does not exist currently but is definitely needed. It completely redefines the way we can access, create and distribute data products and services that are needed to power AI algorithms and what not. It provides incentives to all participants of the network, and encourages improved data services. With a talented team working on the project, supported by powerful investors, the project is definitely earmarked for success.
