End of Status ICO Contribution

So it appears we were unsuccessful with our attempt to get involved with the Status ICO. Sure enough we were using the Myetherwallet and word on the street (Reddit) that some people were powering their gas with 500 gwei https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/6ifj7k/analysis_of_successful_contributions_to_status/ . No wonder the little guys didnt stand a chance.

MyEtherWallet got so slammed with tx that they got frustrated with some Twitter users saying to one user who was complaining:

"Then run your own full node. Mist, Parity, Geth. Do it like a big boy. Please." And later responding 

"One benefit of being free opensource service is we dont have to bend over & take grief. Running node is fun. If you arent happy w us, try it"

There were also a handful of scams on Twitter and Reddit, sure there were other platforms being abused... i sincerelyhope no one fell for any of these during extreme fomo. Can't go any where without someone trying to rip you off.!

Guess we'll have to wait for the official offering or when they hit the exchange. 

It looks like it could be a successful app. After having a play with it, there appears to be some good features.

The ICO has already concluded meaning that they've raised +-225 million dollars of funds within a couple of hours. This is ridiculous. Glad i didn't participate in this nonsense.

Bonkers amount of money! Even MEW raised their gas price ability to 60gwei. They must have made some on the tx fees, no?
