Good day everyone, Splinterlands is going to the moon with the introduction of Splintershards and the daily airdrop value is a good return as it's almost close to 0.8$ per SPS when I was writing this and yes, it may fluctuate, but the start is good.
We have a Earth splinter monster this week for the weekly challenge and the monster is **Beatrix Ironhand**.

**Beatrix Ironhand** is an epic *ranged attack* monster from Untamed version of monsters and it has 20 of the newest abilities introduced by Splinterlands few months ago.
Being a *ranged* attack monster, it can attack from first position as part of one of those 2 newly introduced abilities. let's see the details below.

The ranged attack for this monster is good as it starts with 2 attack and changes to 3 from level 2 itself and it gives a maximum of 4 *ranged* attack in final level i.e. level 6.
Infact, this monster is best on many aspects as it's *speed* too is good which is constant through out 6 levels with speed of 4.
Health is not bad too with starting at 5 and can go to a maximum of 6 from level 4 onwards.
Talking about **abilities**, this monster has 3 nice abilities like **Close Range**, **Thorn** and **Cripple**.
**Close Range** allows it to attack from front position in-spite of it being a *ranged* attack monster due to this ability.
**Thorn** is an old ability and we know it gets to throw thorns when a melee attack monster attack it.
**Cripple** is another new ability which makes it to reduce the health of the monster it attacks by 1 if the health is maximum for that monster.

As there was good mana cap of 32 for this battle and also there was **Silenced Summoners** ruleset, I used the monsters as mentioned below with some of the safe options.

#### Flesh Golem:

Being a *healing* monster, I felt this is the good option in this battle as it can give 3 melee attack and has good health of 9.

#### Kron The Undying:
<center>
</center>
I used **Kron The Undying** at second position to make it work as a front monster if the **Flesh Golem** gets removed and this is also a good one in first position in second line as it can take care of any *snipe* attack as well since this is also a *healing* monster.

#### Screeching Vulture:

Although my summoner denies it the chance of *scavenge*, I still use this in most of the battles as it checks those low health yet powerful monsters and gives advantage.
It's 4 speed makes it to attack early and being a flying monster, it can evade getting attacked by melee and ranged attack.

#### Beatrix Ironhand:

The theme monster, **Beatrix Ironhand** as we read above, is a good option and can even attack from front position.
Although don't use it much, but I will try to explore it thru these battles for challenge.

#### Wood Nymph:

**Wood Nymph** is a the *tank heal* monster with an option of a single magic attack and it is the only *tank heal* I have in **Earth** Splinter and will be a good choice in this lineup.

#### Furious Chicken:

**Furious Chicken** is the Zero mana cost monster and a good option to keep it at last position against any *sneak* attack.

## Battle:
The battle went for 7 rounds inspite of **Flesh Golem** and **Kron The Undying** getting poisoned by **Serpentine Mystic**.
Overall, it was a good win and here I share few screenshots from the battle.

## Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Yes, the usage of 2 *healing* monsters in **Flesh Golem** and **Kron The Undying** was a good option as it kept the other monsters from early exposure and usage of **Beatrix Ironhand** was good too with it's speed and ranged attack although I would have used some other monster as I am not accustomed to using it.
If I wasn't using **Beatrix Ironhand**, probably, I would have used **Spirit Miner** since it gives me 2 attack as well, but, it gives an additional speed to all friendly monsters, which would have changed the battle to get complete early.

## Do you like BEATRIX IRONHAND? Why or why not?
Well, I like it for the ability of *Close Range** for it's 2 attack and speed, but, as I said, haven't used it much, may be I will be exploring it more from now onwards.
