Hello guys and welcome back to my page, today I am starting a series that seeks to explore the secret societies that allegedly covertly control our lives, and if one is going to be exploring this space the first natural port of call would have to be:   The Illuminatis.

 Historically, the word Illuminati referred to the Bavarian Illuminati, an enlightenment society founded in 1776 by German philosopher and rationalist Johann Adam Weishaupt for the purposes of countering superstition, exposing obscurantist (people who seek to prevent facts from being widely known or at best to obfuscate them), etc.

 When it was first started the Illuminati was meant to be an anti establishment organisation, the name/term Illuminati derives from the Latin word “illuminatus” which essentially means to illuminate or to shine a light upon, though this word means to illuminate, in its application, especially in its purest Latin form, it seeks to expose, to unravel, to “out the facts” etc. and it was in this  spirit that Johann Adam Weishaupt created the Illuminati, he wanted to expose the corruption of the church and the state in Germany at that time because there was a conspiracy of intent between these two organs of power that was bearing down on the population in an oppressive authoritarian way. 




Johann Adam Weishaupt wanted to expose the secret goings on in the corridors of power by bringing facts to the people.

However, in modern times the term Illuminati is used in reference to a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as shadowy “hand in the glove puppeteer ” allegedly controlling world affairs by controlling governments and corporations.  In this context, the Illuminatis are believed to be the masterminds behind events that some people see as precursors to the establishment of a new world order.

There are all manner of events attributed to the Illuminati, events as strange and bizarre as the JFK shooting, 9/11, area 51. The moon landing in 1969, the list is endless. 

The Illuminati phenomenon also has a fun side, a showbiz side, the movement has certainly found mass adoption within the hip hop community with prominent names such as Jay Z, LL Cool J, Beyonce, etc. reputedly being part of the Illuminati clan/movement, in fact, it is being alleged that Jay Z throws up the Illuminati sign, (fingers from both hands pressed together to form a triangle or a pyramid), at concerts as a form of coded signal.

So, is the Illuminati real or is it just conspiracy theory gone mad, well, we will never know and that is exactly the point of it, a secret society operating in the shadows manipulating global affairs and teleguiding us will always exist in that realm of half truth half fiction.
