PIVX patching to avoid a dose of libzerocoin exploititis

As the fallout of yesterday's [critical security issue in the Parity multisig wallet](https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptojaxx/dear-oh-dear-another-eth-hard-fork-is-looking-likely-to-fix-usd150m-problem) (which has now left between $150-$280 million dollars worth of Ether trapped inside affected wallets) continues. We now learn that PIVX and ZCoin (and any other coin that is leveraging a vulnerable version of the libzerocoin code) may be affected by a vulnerability too. [PIVX who have recently rolled out the first PoS/Masternode implementation that uses the zerocoin protocol](https://twitter.com/_pivx/status/925520344336695296) has run into a spot of bother with the new code. It turns out that the version of libzerocoin they are using is vulnerable to an exploit which can be used by an attacker to generate/spend more coins than they are supposed to.

Unlike the Parity wallet issue, this isn't likely to cause anybody to lose coins so it's nowhere near as catastrophic an issue, but the it's not good for the network which is why the teams are actively trying to patch and stamp out any exploit of this issue as soon as possible.

## Updates coming soon
As of now, the folks at [ZCoin have already rolled out their new code with a hard fork at block 60,000](https://zcoin.io/zcoin-hard-fork-statement/) and they have been in touch with PIVX devs to share info about this issue.

[PIVX devs have published an announcement](https://zcoin.io/zcoin-hard-fork-statement/) to say that they are aware of this issue and are working on an update for it. In the mean time, their advice is that you can safely continue to use version 3.0.4 of the wallet. Exchanges have been notified of this issue and as far as I can tell, exchanges such as Bittrex have taken their wallet into maintenance mode.

There's never a dull moment in cryptoland. Let's hope that they get over this quickly and get back on track soon.
