Steemit wants to know your location, click here to get notifications about offers near you

I can't use unknown sites too much. I get paranoid. Do they know who I am? My IP address is tied to my name from some unavoidable services that require identification. Set an ad on that server and the IP-name relationship is saved in ad servers which as you well know sell everything.

Then, any developer which has access to that information can get my IP address from a website like Steemit or Busy or any other front end and throw it at a black market database of information and know who I am!

Emails are tied to names, to other accounts, phone numbers are tied to names and to all accounts that require them. The only solution is to use anonymous emails that don't require your name and only give them your VPN's IP address, use apps like TextNow with anonymous data and use that as number to verify stuff... But then the stuff starts blacklisting anonymous email addresses and TextNow phone numbers. You end up then with no choice but to give in and throw some info.

Steemit wants that info. My account was created with Steemit. Wanna know who I am? Ask them, they probably have that information in a file somewhere. Their phone number API was so messy that I had no choice than to use a low quality second hand burner that could trace back to me if you just ask around a little.

So many services are like that nowadays. Techies are creeps who always want your private info, and they're getting better at checking the quality of it and banning your accounts if they don't match. The privacy industry is also growing toward many anonymity places, but anonymous phone numbers haven't caught up yet, not free at least. Maybe with Twilio? Dunno. Gotta try some more.
