AFC: Which club and country has the most continental titles?

In the [previous post](https://peakd.com/hive-101690/@cryptosimplify/ofc-which-club-and-country-has-the-most-continental-titles) I analyzed OFC.
This time I will analyse the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

# AFC President´s Cup

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ran the AFC President's Cup, an annual international club football competition for domestic sides, from 2005 to 2014. 

It aimed at developing football in up-and-coming nations and was below the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.

This competition had a total of 10 editions.

The biggest winner of this competition is Regar-TadAZ from Tajikistan with 3 titles and the second clube with more titles is FK Dordoi-Dynamo from Kyrgyzstan with 2 titles.
The other 5 competitions were won by different clubs: Yadanarbon (Myanmar), Taiwan Power Company (Taiwan), Istiklol (Tajikistan), Nebitci Balkanabat (Turkmenistan) and Ýedigen (Turkmenistan).


# Asian Super Cup

The Asian Super Cup was a yearly football contest between the champions of the Asian Club Championship and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup. It began in 1995 but ended in 2002 when the AFC Champions League absorbed both major AFC tournaments.

This competition had a total of 8 editions.

The two biggest winners of this competition are Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Suwon Bluewings (South Korea) both with 2 titles.

The remaining editions were won by different clubs: Yokohama Flügels (Japan), Cheonan Ilhwa Chunma (South Korea), Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia) e Júbilo Iwata (Japan).



# GCC Champions League

The GCC Champions League was an annual football tournament for Arabian peninsula club teams, organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council. First held in 1982, its 31st and final edition was in 2015.

Failed attempts were made to play it in 2016 and 2017. 

It was open to clubs from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Initially popular, the tournament declined as the Asian Champions League and AFC Cup prevented many Gulf clubs from participating.

This competition had a total of 30 editions.

The three biggest winners of this competition are Al-Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ahli Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Shabab Dubai (United Arab Emirates) all of them with 2 titles.

After these three clubs there are 6 clubs that managed to win the competition 2 twice in their history: Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Al-Arabi (Koweit), Kazma SC (Koweit), Al-Shabab (Saudi Arabia) and Qadsia SC (Koweit).

# Asian Cup Winners´ Cup

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ran the Asian Cup Winners' Cup, a club football tournament for domestic cup champions from AFC-affiliated countries. Launched in 1991, the Cup Winners' Cup winner would face the Asian Club Championship winner in the Asian Super Cup.

This competition have a total of 13 editions.

The two biggest winners of this competition are Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Yokohama Marinos (Japan) both with 2 titles.

The remaining editions were won by different clubs: Yokohama Marinos (Japan), Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Al-Shabab (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ittihad Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Persepolis FC (Iran), Al-Qadisiya (Saudi Arabia), Bellmare Hiratsuka (Japan), Shimizu S-Pulse (Japan) and Shonan Bellmare (Japan).


# AFC Cup

The AFC Cup is an annual club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). As per current rules, it primarily features clubs from nations without direct slots in the AFC Champions League (top tier), based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking.

This competition have a total of 18 editions.

The two biggest winners of this competition are Kuwait SC (Koweit) and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Iraq) both with 3 titles.
Apart from them, Al-Faisaly (Jordan) and Al-Muharraq (Bahrain) were the only ones who managed to win the competition twice.

# AFC Champions League

The AFC Champions League (ACL) is an annual club football competition in Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation, featuring the top-division clubs from the continent. Regarded as the most prestigious club competition in Asian football, it features national league champions (and sometimes runners-up) of national associations.

Formerly known as the Asian Champion Club Tournament, it rebranded in 2002 after the merger of the Asian Club Championship, Asian Cup Winners' Cup, and Asian Super Cup.

40 clubs participate in the group stage, with automatic berths for those from stronger leagues and playoffs for those from lower-ranked nations. Qualifiers can also play in the AFC Cup. The ACL winner earns a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup.

This competition have a total of 49 editions.

The biggest winner of this competition it is Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) with 4 titles.
The second biggest winner is Pohang Steelers (South Korea) with 3 titles.

As we can see in the chat, Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia) it was the AFC club that won the most titles, having won a total of 10 titles in 128 games.

The following clubs only managed to win 4 titles. So we can say that Al-Nassr is dominant in this conference.

As we can see Saudi Arabia is the dominant country in the AFC having won 28 titles out of a possible 128.
In second place we have South Korea with 20, in third Japan with 17 titles and in fourth place we have Kuwait and United Arab Emirates with 10 titles.

The remaining countries have between 1 and 4 titles won.

Asia is remarkably far behind in competitions with the Euro & Latin sides and thats due to the footballing infrastructure and the weather. European mechanism works well with their premiere league and champions league, national and sub-national models. 

The more organized the structure, the greater it is to improve in the ranking ; but for utter display thats not been seen in Asia.Recently, India has been turning football into a revolution and that slightly work well. Hopefully Saudi Arabian clubs would foster the glory and thats coming soon.
