Came across this [article](https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/solana-sol-worth-hype-john-hargrave-ex57e) about the bull case for SOL (or Solana) recently.

It paints a very *sunny* outlook for Solana.

The gist of it is that it’s fast transaction speed makes it superior to Ethereum as a layer 1 blockchain. It is also way cheaper. Plenty of apps are being built on it. The language used is not Solidity but the other more commonly used ones like Rust and C, so more developers can build on it. Most importantly, the case put forward is that investors do not see the quality of technology as a premium but are more concerned about market share and adoption.

The author suggests that SOL has a huge adoption advantage and has a growth potential compared to those in a survival situation like most other layer ones. 

Interesting!

Having digested this content, I offer several musings.

1. Indeed, one should look at growth potential as a decision point. Hive is growing and not just surviving, so I am on the right track with Hive.

2. One should not gloss past the technology. Things can go pretty ugly when technology runs into a hiccup. Solana has a history… let’s just leave at that.

3. Even if investors don’t care about technology, investors should care about fundamentals. Here, I am referring to tokenomics and decentralization of the tokens. If its too centralized such that VCs are holding big bags, there are inherent risks.

4. We don’t need the biggest gains potential, just safe gains will do. If there are some great risks involved given the fundamentals, I would rather invest in a safer instrument with good fundamentals.

In conclusion, I stick with Hive. Not financial advice but no SOL for me except to try to gain from its pump for short term gains.
