Let's welcome the future.

We often forget that celebrations are rooted in shared memories. They require the presence of friends, old and new. Different sets of special occasions are also all about remembering different times and celebrating them, either because they're past or coming ones. They all involve remembrances in one way or another: sometimes fun, sometimes serious, sometimes downright emotional.

There is still so much to celebrate!

What do a future in which we will be flooded with social media posts, emails, and contact with institutions, look like. Does it seem ironic, and maybe even gloomy? The way to understand this transition is by looking at the other side: the past. And what commonly comes to mind when thinking about holidays and unforgettable encounters are our friends. Full of vibrancy, a festive spirit, and happy memories, so will our future be in which technology enhances not contradicts our humanity.

We all have our favorite memories, whether they're of long journeys taken with friends, candle-lit dinners with loved ones, or the time we spent trying to forget them.

We will always be able to preserve memories, but it's important to remember that the way in which we do this is going to keep changing.

It is very important to go back to the moments from the good old days and relive them by making vivid memories of that age that seems like a moment ago. It is not about becoming sentimental and regretful but about celebrating what happened in the past like how wonderful life can be when one is optimistic and wants to live life fully.

I believe we should all cherish the memories from our childhoods, teenage years, and college breaks; a time when days eagerly zoomed by but were nothing short of terrific bonding. And these memories will stay alive forever because they are like gold-coral: weightless things that are worth more than one can comprehend yet don't cost us much at all! It's important that we save these moments as our future gets smaller and reminisce every now and then.

A quote from Sasha Grey on her site Eat, Pray, Love Tells All: "Be present and celebrate new moments that are unfolding. We are doomed to live in the past or dream of some far away future. The future is never promised but once it’s the past we crave for the happiness it had."

With each moment, we and our loved ones experience something special happy times and unfixable moments. Our past is reflective of both happiness and other unnecessary regrets we might have as time passes by without us saying anything.

Memories create moments of playfulness, love, and kindness that are the milestones of a happy life. You hope they’re the memories to carry you through when you're old and grey. Events that stand front and center in your mind reminiscing with everyone who shares those memories outweigh their burdening bad times. What would you do if these moments were completely lost? Didn't happen? They were erased? I can't imagine a thing more heartbreaking than not being able to muster a single smile from my past and not knowing what my future holds.

@kaazoom ·
Memories are so important, they give us a sense of identity and shape the way we think and even what we will do in the future. This includes both good and bad memories. In the case of bad memories, I think we have to try and reframe them, learn from them but see them in the context of all the good memories we have made. Or maybe I'm being too simplistic.
