Sometimes I feel a growing edge of frustration because I really *want* to be supportive of Hive's communities — I believe in community building, and I believe that *niche communities* represent the most *"accessible"* way to present Hive to the world — yet is seems like virtually every promising endeavor that comes across my path invariably turns into a worthless and/or abandoned mess within a relatively short time.

Originally, this account was created to support PALNet (PAL), which is... well, *I don't even know what it is,* anymore. Then Verify Your Brain (VYB) which seems lost and rudderless... and Proof of Brain (POB) is *anything* actually going on there?

Meanwhile the Click Track Profit (CTP) community seems dead in the water, as well likely because there really wasn't much there without the energy of **@jongolson.** Alive (ALIVE) seems dead in the water with **@flaxz** being AWOL since January. The whole DHEDGE family of ventures seem to have fallen into nowhere, and **@taskmanager** is nowhere to be found. 

Hard to be excited about everything seemingly going down the tubes...

## *The Nature of the Beast?*

What is the lesson, here?

Is the *real* lesson that the reality that crypto — on *whatever* scale — is that it's all about short term *"moonshots"* and making lots of money quickly, rather than about building something that's *long term sustainable?*

Has the whole Cryptosphere become so attuned to overnight riches and instant Lambos that nothing lasts?

Or am I looking that *the wrong thing,* here?

Do we just have a plethora of ill-conceived ideas based on little more than wishful thinking and hopium... that had *no chance* of succeeding, in the first place?

The amount of *determination* and *effort* needed to make a success of something is often far greater than what project founders had imagined.

## *That Sour Taste in my Mouth...*

I suppose the logical thing here would simply to *not* be concerned with our Level 2 communities, and just focus on Hive proper, instead. 

Feels like a copout, to me. 

Or focus on the *"known,"* like LeoFinance/INLEO... as perhaps the only community with a *clue* and a *chance.*

Seems a bit sad that nobody else can get it together, in spite of there being more than a few communities with good *fundamentals.* The *idea* is there, but the *fundamentals* — including viable tokenomics — are missing. 

Well, not going to stew in these juices for *too* long. For now, I'll continue to stack my POB tokens, and post from the Proof of Brain community set up via Ecency. I did like the original site set up via Hive-Engine better — felt more like an actual branded community site — but beggars can't be choosers, right?
