## About eSteem

eSteem remains one of the foremost applications built on the Steem blockchain. This platform spans across three major operating systems vis-a-vis Android, iOS and Windows OS.

The eSteem platform is a social media application which aims to reward its users for their activities on the Steem blockchain through any of its app.

If you use eSteem to post unique articles, pictures, blog posts, videos and other content, you get rewarded. These rewards come in the form of an upvote on your contribution.

In 7 days, your post pays out and you earn some percentage of Steem, SBD and Steem power. There are quite a lot of features on eSteem which makes it a wonderful app for users and visitors to the Steem blockchain.

## Proposal

The eSteem app has become such a wonderful platform for users to do virtually everything on the Steem blockchain right from the app. I've looked at the eSteem app with scrutinizing and keen eyes and there is almost everything needed to be a successful Steemian present on the app.

However, I noticed the absence of a very important feature on the eSteem Android mobile app. That feature is the Power Down and the Power Up feature. This feature is a necessary one that needs to be implemented on the app.

Users usually power down some of their Steem power to meet demands at home or other financial demands. On the other hand, powering up Steem increases the stake of the user on the Steem blockchain. This Steem power can be used to curate posts as well as allows users to carry out a lot of transactions.

I propose that there should be a button which would sit beside the Steem and Steem power balance of a user. When users click on these buttons, they can see the power up and the power down options respectively. I have added a few mockups to showcase what I hope for.

### Screenshot 1

This is the wallet feature of the eSteem mobile android app. Here, we can see the Steem and Steem power balances. As you can see, there are no options or buttons for the power up/down feature.

The screenshot below is what you get when you click on the "Option" buttons I have added. The first gives you a power-up option while the one below Steem power gives you a power down option. Please forgive my crude and uninteresting graphics.

## Benefits

These are the benefits of having the power up and power down options in the eSteem wallet feature.

i. This option will make eSteem the most comprehensive app to be built on the Steem blockchain.

ii. Users can easily receive Steem transfers from blocktrades, bittrex and other users and power-up same with ease.

iii. For users who probably fall into financial crisis, they can easily begin a power down from eSteem without the need to visit other Steem front-ends.
