Beginner's Guide: Budget Level 1 Cards to Rent in Bronze for each Splinter

Hi again! So if you've been wondering which cards you could rent to get a real long win streak going in Bronze, here are the cards that you'll want to rent. I'll be breaking them down per splinter and giving you an idea of why they're good. I'll keep the cards per splinter for a total of under 5 DEC / day, to still make a profit if you're renting out a splinter just for the daily quest (you're earning ~0.5 DEC / win in Bronze * 10 wins = ~5 DEC).

🔥 **Fire** 🔥
[Fineas Rage](https://splintercards.com/reward-fineas-rage)
- best at 2nd position because of Reach

[Ant Miners](https://splintercards.com/reward-ant-miners) 
- put near the back position to build up his HP (from Scavenge) and act as a backup tank

[Naga Fire Wizard](https://splintercards.com/reward-naga-fire-wizard)
- great at the backline to protect from Sneak; also good in 2nd position to protect against Snipe

[Pyromancer](https://splintercards.com/reward-pyromancer)
- a great alternative to Fire Elemental because it has a much higher HP for 1 more mana

[Lava Launcher](https://splintercards.com/reward-lava-launcher)
- Close Range + armor; great for 3rd or 4th position

[Fire Demon](https://splintercards.com/beta-fire-demon)
- good balance of mana cost, damage and HP

- Heal on a tank is always good

[Wave Runner](https://splintercards.com/reward-wave-runner)
- cheap card for 2nd position

- cheap card with Blast

[Axemaster](https://splintercards.com/reward-axemaster)
- 2 Range damage with Double Strike; Sometimes 2 x 2 damage is better than 1 x 4 damage

[Azmare Harpoonist](https://splintercards.com/untamed-azmare-harpoonist)
- High damage and Snare counters Flying monsters

[Sea Genie](https://splintercards.com/reward-sea-genie)
- good stats for the cost; synergy with Alric (+1 magic damage)

[Torhilo the Frozen](https://splintercards.com/reward-torhilo-the-frozen)
- the anti-magic Water tank; synergy with Bortus (-1 magic damage)

- much-needed healer of the Earth splinter

[Screeching Vulture](https://splintercards.com/reward-screeching-vulture)
- Opportunity + Flying; a little slower than Serpentine Spy

[Nectar Queen](https://splintercards.com/reward-nectar-queen)
- high HP and high damage + Flying

[Javelin Thrower](https://splintercards.com/reward-javelin-thrower)
- very high speed and Piercing will help break the +1 armor buff from Tyrus Paladium or Drake of Arnak

[Beatrix Ironhand](https://splintercards.com/untamed-beatrix-ironhand)
- Close Range; making it great at 3rd or 4th position

[Djinn Biljka](https://splintercards.com/reward-djinn-biljka)
- the new ability, Camouflage, protects it against Sneak and Snipe until it's in the 1st position

- Sneak + Double Strike; the Life Splinter's bread and butter

[Venari Crystalsmith](https://splintercards.com/reward-venari-crystalsmith)
- an upgrade to [Divine Healer](https://splintercards.com/beta-divine-healer): for one more mana you get +1 speed, +1 Range damage

[Light Elemental](https://splintercards.com/untamed-light-elemental)
- a great glass cannon with Magic damage

[Lunakari Mistress](https://splintercards.com/dice-lunakari-mistress)
- her Oppress ability gets rid of no-damage meat shields very quickly

[Warrior of Peace](https://splintercards.com/reward-warrior-of-peace)
- speaking of meat shields, this monster reduces all melee attacks by 1 with Demoralize

[Armorsmith](https://splintercards.com/promo-armorsmith)
- either a supplement or addition to [Truthspeaker](https://splintercards.com/untamed-truthspeaker), the Repair ability can be the game-winning factor

[Dark Ferryman](https://splintercards.com/reward-dark-ferryman)
- great backline protection against Sneak

[Grim Reaper](https://splintercards.com/reward-grim-reaper)
- high mana cost glass cannon, but it's one of the monsters that have Affliction at level 1
(The other Affliction monster in the Death Splinter is [Undead Archer](https://splintercards.com/promo-undead-archer) but it's a little more expensive)

[Phantasm](https://splintercards.com/reward-phantasm)
- tank with high speed and Flying

[Undead Rexx](https://splintercards.com/reward-undead-rexx)
- the tank version of [Sand Worm](https://splintercards.com/reward-sand-worm)

[The Gorlodon](https://splintercards.com/untamed-the-gorlodon)
- an amazing 2nd position tank

[Phantom Soldier](https://splintercards.com/reward-phantom-soldier)
- great to have on the 3rd or 4th position as a secondary tank

🐲 **Dragon** 🐲
NOTE: while there aren't many cheap Dragon cards, it's still arguably the strongest splinter since it's technically a 1 1/2 splinter. Using the Dragon splinter DOES NOT count towards the wins of another splinter.

- cheap Affliction + Magic damage

[Gloridax Soldier](https://splintercards.com/reward-gloridax-soldier)
- budget tank (if you can't afford [Robo-Dragon Knight](https://splintercards.com/reward-robo-dragon-knight))

[Fire Spitter](https://splintercards.com/reward-fire-spitter)
- good stats for mana cost

[Djinn Chwala](https://splintercards.com/reward-djinn-chwala)
- The only level 1 monster with Thorns (at least for now); a must-have tank if you're planning to run Dragon splinter at the lower levels

😐 **Neutral** 😐
[Creeping Ooze](https://splintercards.com/reward-creeping-ooze) and [Furious Chicken](https://splintercards.com/reward-furious-chicken) are definite must-haves. Furious Chicken is the ONLY zero-mana card (so far) and will serve as a great meat shield. Taking one hit for the team can easily make the difference.

[Goblin Mech](https://splintercards.com/reward-goblin-mech)
- high damage + Piercing

[War Chaang](https://splintercards.com/untamed-war-chaang)
- one of the few cards that have two types of attacks

[Prismatic Energy](https://splintercards.com/reward-prismatic-energy)
- high HP + Magic Reflect (great against Water splinters that use Magic)

[Uraeus](https://splintercards.com/reward-uraeus)
- much better [Elven Cutthroat](https://splintercards.com/beta-elven-cutthroat)

[Gelatinous Cube](https://splintercards.com/reward-gelatinous-cube)
- meat shield + Scavenger; use this to protect your DPS from Sneak or Snipe attacks

[Sand Worm](https://splintercards.com/reward-sand-worm)
- high damage Sneak
