To me, forgiveness is a thing of the heart. It's something we do not for the sake of those that wronged us but for ourselves. Most times, I forgive those that are not even sorry  for what they did to me because my faith has thought me to do so. 
     Being a Christian has open my eyes to the dangers of unforgiveness. The Bible teaches on how important it is to Forgive and lay more emphasis on forgiveness being the fundamental aspect of Christian faith. Jesus says in the book of Mark 11:25 "And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”. 
     You see, I have to forgive so that my own sins came be forgiving , I have to forgive so that my prayers can be answered when I pray. These has made it possible for me to easily forgive without hesitation. If not forgiven someone is delaying my prayers from been answered by my God then am the loosing one.

According to how I understand Scripture, Forgiveness takes on an added spiritual dimension where God demonstrates his own love for us that while we were sinners, Christ died for our transgressions... The perfect model in the forgiveness of sins. Forgiveness in the Christina life is a cornerstone of faith, important enough that we cannot make our offerings before his throne without settling any enmity with a brother or sister. While the ideal outcome is full restoring in trust between genuinely repentant Offender and the victim, most situations are not. That is where we must trust God that I will no longer hold the Offender's sins against me, that I do not wish my offender's soul be condemned on my account because God love that soul just as much as my own soul. 
This gets pretty deep with so much Scripture talking about forgiveness.
