I've been a member of the @helpie community for a couple of months now and I have to say that their support has allowed me to grow significantly. For me it's very important to also give back to the community, without the support of individual members, Helpie would not be where it is today. 


<h2>Giving Back</h2>
<p>Yes, it's easy to just do the minimum amount of effort and enjoy all the benefits, but that's not what Helpie is about. We're focused on helping *each other* grow, so it's time that I put my money where my mouth is  and start supporting some members of @helpie. </p>

I've gone through the Share-Your-Post channel on the @helpie Discord and picked out random members to send 2 Steem Basic Income shares to.

Aside from supporting individual members with these SBI shares, I think it's also a good idea to support the main @helpie account. I'd highly recommend sending some SBI shares to the @helpie account. 

I've recently purchased 10 shares for @helpie and I'd like to see us get to at least 100 shares. Helpie currently has only 38 shares and receives around $0.281 worth of upvotes per week.

**I'm willing to give anyone 1 share for every 10 shares they purchase for @helpie, with a maximum of 30 shares to give away at my end. Meaning that @helpie will gain 300 shares if I can give away the full 30 shares. Post proof in the comments under this post. There's no deadline for entries!**

<h2>Helpie for Witness</h2>
<p>If you haven't done so already, please cast your witness vote for @helpie. It's really easy to do so, just visit the <a href="https://steemit.com/~witnesses">Vote for Witness</a> page and upvote @helpie. They're currently ranked at the 73rd place.</p>

@berniesanders has done a great job promoting @helpie as a witness, kudos to him. As a small token of appreciation, I've also sent him 5 SBI shares. I know this probably doesn't even make a dent in his post rewards, but it might pay off in the long term.

Take Bernie's example and also promote @helpie as a witness on your personal blog. I might give away some more SBI shares if you do so ;) 

That's about it really... I might do some more of these posts in the future, where I pick out some random people from the 
Share-Your-Post channel and send them free SBI shares. I think it's a great way to add an additional incentive to post regularly.

I will provide a more detailed response later tonight.  For now, I have an important  question, as you may know the answer.

Early on, after being introduced to the @helpie community, I backed their efforts with SP delegation.  Is backing them with SBI shares a better way of showing support?

Please provide as much detail in your answer, as you have time for and are comfortable.  As an engineer, I always have lots of questions and appreciate detailed answers ... 😊

My argument for giving Helpie SBI shares, is that it's a more permanent form of support than delegation. As long as SBI exists and keeps upvoting, Helpie should receive upvotes from them indefinitely. Allowing Helpie to grow its own Steem Power reserves. 

Currently, Helpie is largely dependent on huge delegations from some really generous whales. I think many would agree that it would also be a good idea to supplement that support with some Helpie-owned assets (SP).  

Delegations can eventually disappear, but self-owned SP cannot. That's my logic behind this idea.

Well @daan, longer than I would have liked, after my brief "window of opportunity" closed a couple of nights ago, but "dropping in" to follow through.

Thank you for your requested explanation.  For the most part, we are in agreement.

Yes, as long as it exists ...  Which, as far as I understand it, is completely independent of whether or not Steem continues to exist.  And delegation is built in to the core design of this blockchain ...  

Nonetheless, with this slight reservation stated, as a "domino effect," in response to what you elected to do here, I have now completed the following:

1.  Increased my support of the @helpie community, by transferring 5.0 STEEM to SBI in their name.
2.  Returned some support to my fellow "helpienaut," by transferring 4.0 STEEM to SBI in your name.
3.  Voted the +8 MVests, over which I have a controlling interest, to @helpie for one of our all-important Steem Witnesses.
4.  Also voted the same number of MVests to @therealwolf for Steem Witness.

Perhaps more than most, I taking voting for our Steem Witnesses very seriously (long story ...).  While you "primed the pump" with your post here, I had read @meno's original post about being a Witness and was, therefore, considering it.  The "tipping point" for me, was @meno's [post](https://steemit.com/dlive/@meno/an-objective-look-at-dlive-s-exit) earlier today re: the "exit" of @Dlive ...  Amongst other things (maybe I write a post someday ...), this is what I want to see from our Witnesses - "Elders / Guardians at the Gate" ...

And adding @therealwolf?  Well, again, I have read through a lot of posts, including several of his, and mulling it over.  I simply didn't have the time to devote to making as well-considered a vote as I ideally want to make.  The "tipping point" there was learning he has played a very supportive role in assisting @helpie get "to their feet," in launching their bid to be a Steem Witness.

For the record ("immutably enshrined" ...), I want to state here I am a __*strong*__ advocate for a truly __*decentralized*__ blockchain, i.e. no "collusion" amongst the Witnesses.  For the sake of us all, they need to be and remain truly independent.  Supportive of each other.  Certainly.  But, truly independent ...
