***Hi movie lovers, I’ve got some news! Drum rolls….I’ve literally fallen in love with Aamir Khan movie productions.
My Goodness! He’s the producer of the last movie I reviewed: “Like Stars on Earth”
And many other beautiful movies like the one I’m about to review now!
It’s such a masterpiece. I bet you there’s more to come as regards my future movie reviews when it comes to movies produced by Aamir Khan.***

***The movie I’ll be reviewing today is titled:*** *DANGAL* ***and it’s an Indian term for Wrestler.***

**PLOT SUMMARY**
***The movie Dangal is a powerful Indian sports drama based on the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat. He was a former wrestler who trained his daughters to become world class wrestlers. 
Mahavir came from a small village in Haryana, India. It was from that small village that he emerged as a national wrestling champion with the dreams of winning gold for his country on the international stage. But due to lack of support from his family and society, he gave up wrestling to take up a normal job.***

***But that didn’t kill his dream of winning gold for his country. He got married and he yearned for a male child who would take up his dream and fulfill it, but he felt his dream shatter when he ended up having four daughters.
Coming back from work one day, he met two boys in his house alongside their parents with the claim that his eldest daughters, Geeta and Babita had beaten them up for insulting them.
Mahavir was so elated, he felt his dream coming true.
And that was where the journey began.***

***He began training Geeta and Babita as if they were in a military zone.
They woke up by 5am and when they tried making excuses because of their hair, he cut it short. The training was so hard that Geeta and Babita saw him as wicked and believed that he didn’t love them.***

***They suffered criticism from the village and even got teased at school. It was inevitable since that was the first time something of such was happening in the village: “girls turning to boys”.***

***They eventually attended a wedding secretly and when Mahavir invaded the party and gives them the dirt stare, they get scared and hide while narrating to the bride how they feel about their father’s treatment.
The bride’s statement was their turning point: she told them she wished she had such a father who didn’t prepare her to be married off at an early age but craved to give her a future.***

***They got back home and doubled their effort and slowly, their hard work started to pay off. Geeta won state-level championships, got selected to the National Sports Academy, and eventually won gold at the Commonwealth Games. Babita also followed in her footsteps. The movie really ended on an emotional and victorious note, as Geeta finally won gold for India, thereby, fulfilling her father's dream and realizing that everything he did was out of love and belief in their potential.***

**MOVIE REVIEW**
***Dangal is such a fierce movie I must say. Every scene was intense, especially the wrestling matches. I could literally feel the tension and the pressure crawling up my skin.
The movie is a story about family, discipline, sacrifice and the misunderstood love of a parent.
I could 100% relate to this movie because I remember how it took me years before I got to understand the reasons for my dad’s disciplinary actions and words.
 Geeta and Babita saw their father as controlling in the initial moments. I could feel their pain because, like me, some of us had been there too.***

***But as the story progresses, I began to see what Mahavir saw all along and that was potential. He saw champions in his daughters when no one else did, not even they themselves. He believed in them enough to fight society, tradition, and even their own resistance.***

***One emotional moment for me was when Geeta, after joining the national academy, started distancing herself from her father's teachings. She now believed she knew better now and saw her dad’s techniques as old fashioned.
But after a series of defeats, she realized the value of his tough love. 
One night she made a call to him crying and asking for his forgiveness. It was so touching.
It reminded me that sometimes, distance and experience are what it takes to understand our parents.***

***Aamir Khan did a good job in his role as Mahavir. Portraying the true attributes of a father with so much depth.***

***I would gladly give this movie a 10/10 as it does nothing but Justice to the actual objective of the story.***
