*Another* snow day here in the Upper Mid-West of the United States.  That makes four already this year.  I'm not going to lie, I'm getting tired of shoveling. But, on the bright side, it has made for some very cool pictures and the sledding has been great.🙂

Up until recently, I have taken these cool pictures (at least *I* think they're cool) but really haven't had anything to do with them.  I could send them out to friends and family, but we all basically live in the same general area so what's the point?  They can look outside and see the same things I do. 

Why do I say "up until recently"? Because up until recently we didn't have [#LeoThreads](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/loeglossary-threads).  

I've never been one for [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter).  I recognized early on that it would be a massive time-waster for me and I had no interest in being caught up in the day-to-day gossip and trash that gets spilled all over the airwaves.  I'm not saying it's not useful for a lot of people.  I'm just not one of them.

But #threads is another story.  First of all, it's part of [#LeoFinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) which is my favorite platform to read and write on.  Using #threads is not only fun and easy, it also helps support the growth of the Leo ecosystem overall.  Forget about the fact that you can get votes.  That is not the point of #threads.  In fact, I'm pretty sure they're going to take the money part off the screen at some point.  It will still *be* there and we will all still collect the little token amounts we might receive, but it won't be visible because it shouldn't be the focus of why people use #threads.

The point of #threads is social interaction.  Just like Twitter.  You can post your most recent article.  You can post about someone else's article you read that you think deserves more attention.  You can post about your local sports team, your dog, your weather, your breakfast, whatever the hell you want.  It's about interacting with the community without having to be "in your face".  And it all helps [#Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) and [#Leo](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) and the community as a whole.

@taskmaster4450 has posted some articles recently about *transactions* on the [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain).  Currently we're the third busiest blockchain by transactions in existence.  But Hive is capable of so much more than that. As most of us believe, once #Hive gets recognized for all of the things it can do compared to other inferior blockchains out there, it really should only be a matter of time until it really takes off.  Completely free transactions because of the [resource credits](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-resource-credits-rc), extremely fast [block times](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-block-time), scalable to huge numbers, and no single point of failure due to it's being completely [decentralized](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralization).  These are things that really no other blockchain can say.  Some have a couple of these traits, but nothing has them all like [Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive).

[Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) is capable of millions of transactions a day and one way to help people start to see that is to get our daily transactions climbing.  #Threads could be a big part of making that happen.  Each thread could be responsible for two, three, or even dozens of transactions on the blockchain.  There's the initial thread, any replies, any votes, and then any payouts they might bring.  All are transactions that get counted.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math and figure out that if everybody takes a couple minutes a day to post a thread and/or look over a few more, the numbers could blow up in a hurry.

So again, *we* are responsible for our own success.  We all own a piece of this platform.  That's why we're here isn't it?  We love using the platform and we all want it to succeed, but really, let's be honest, we are all looking for some serious financial gain down the road.  

Well, it starts with us.  We, the community, are the biggest asset Hive has and we need to be it's biggest proponent.  And that starts by being an active member of the community.  It doesn't matter how big or small your stake is, each transaction counts as one transaction.

I've set one of my goals this year as doing 10 comments a day on articles I read.  I've also set a goal to at least put out two #threads a day.  Like I said, I'm not much for #Twitter so this is new territory for me.  :-)  I would encourage everyone to make some sort of commitment to #threads themselves.  Maybe it's one thread.  Maybe it's 10.  Maybe it's just a comment or two and a couple votes.  Whatever it is, at least try and open it every day and take a look.  I'm already finding out that it's fun, informative, and above all else, easy.  It takes virtually no time.  Open it, scroll down a little, catch a few headlines, aaaannnnd Done.  Vote, reply, add, or nothing.  At least open it up and look.  Who knows?  Maybe you can become the [Elon Musk](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-elon-musk) of #threads.

We are truly responsible for our own success.  [LeoFinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) has given us another tool to help break through to the masses. And it's a good one.  Let's use it.
