I CELEBRATE THE INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY

After spending a very chaotic weekend, I sit down to check my coffee community and I find that October 1st is International Coffee Day, and I simply thought I should tell a story based on real life, in my life that is more real than a cage with milk and bread dipped in coffee... mmm delicious!

Here we go!
Many years ago I had to emigrate to my brother country, I felt alone and helpless, but it was a decision I had already made and there was no turning back. It seems unbelievable, but it was so hard for me to accept the taste of the coffee that the Colombians served me that it took me a couple of months to get used to it. Days went by and I began to feel at home, but I also began to observe the wonderful goodness that this land had that was now adopting me.
Once a man who walked every morning through the main part of the house I had rented, every day at 5:00 am in the morning the street was impregnated with the smell of coffee and I was sure it was not me, it was not my family because we all stopped at 7:00 am to do our workout, breakfast and go to work.

That young man was handsome and strong, he was always quiet and kind of lonely because he didn't even whistle as people in my town do, he was picking coffee in the mountains near my rented home. He was always looking at the ground as if he was looking for something lost... He was really strange and made me very curious but an immigrant always has certain fears when it comes to meeting people.

I preferred to keep a low profile, meeting people was not what I cared about.

You know a part of Colombia is very very cold, sometimes you feel that the cold takes over your body and coffee is the only delicious thing that runs through the blood of a Venezuelan who is in another country.
Coffee is not just a beverage, it is a flavor that unites people and links different nationalities, cultures, beliefs and even feelings...

Days passed and the same handsome but super strange young man knocked on the door of my house and left me a paper that said:
"I know you are from the same country as me, your tone of voice is great and Venezuela is magical, its people are magical, I know you like the smell of coffee, in the afternoons when I pass by to buy bread you don't realize it's me because I walk around in other clothes. The one I have in the mornings is dirty and maybe I am even unpleasant, besides I know I have another attitude, I am tired and in the mornings when I come back from the mountain I just pray that my back can bear so much weight with the coffee beans that I have to weigh in order to earn my money for my daily food, my rent and my expenses".
I also have dreams and I want to fulfill them... I imagine that just like you....

"I want to be a barista and prepare the best coffee in the world... But I no longer want to carry kilos of coffee on my back, I am young but this job makes me very tired... You know... in the afternoons your house smells of the coffee that I pick up every week from very early in the morning. And I while I pass again and again in front of your house just thinking about how to talk to you, that's why today I leave you these lines."

"To finish I would just like to go with me to my barista classes one afternoon so we can taste a coffee together, it would be great to share with a Venezuelan friend, laugh and tell each other about our lives and pass the time"....

Without thinking twice and with my cup of coffee in my hand I wrote a note and left the answer taped to my door that said: Siiii quiero, if my coffee smells good and is the same as the one you pick I don't want to imagine if you prepare it yourself being a pure Venezuelan. So I'll see you Friday at 6 when you come by, I hope I recognize you hahaha.
I know you won't come dirty, not even with the coffee basket. Although I love that smell and VALUE your work and the immensity of your good faith in asking me out.....
We could have so many things in common that I find it incredible to meet people and that coffee is who crossed us in this life...

I'll be waiting for you, be punctual as if you were going to work...
