# Pesky humans 🤖

I don't know what it is, but I keep finding really awesome French movies a lot here lately. [Big Bug](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11541872/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0) is another film that originated in France that I recently watched with English dubs. The English version made it even more hilarious than it would have been normally. I got some [Idiocracy](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/) vibes from this one and that is most certainly a good thing.

The year is 2050 and artificial intelligence has reached a point where human beings are beginning to look obsolete. The Yonyx is the most advanced AI-powered robot in existence and they seek to rise to power and lead the humans, most likely off of a cliff since they clearly are superior in nearly every way.

You can expect the entirety of this movie to take place inside of the Barelli home. This is a place that is retro, yet futuristic. The design of the home is pretty cool and I honestly wouldn't mind living in this place. A wide assortment of odd people manage to get inside of the house all at once, but then they are unable to leave. The four out-of-date robots that run this home decide that it is safer for the humans to remain inside of the home rather than leave and venture out into the world of the Yonyx.

The safety protocols are enacted automatically and there is no way to manually override and escape the home. This leaves nearly a dozen crazy characters to go mad with each other. Some characters include the crazy ex-wife, robot-obsessed husband and his new and younger girlfriend, teens going through puberty, a nosey neighbor, a horny dad who always has a boner, and of course the robots. This bunch of people provides endless amounts of hilarious moments.

This approach to an AI-led future is a bit different than some other films that I have seen in the past. There are some things that you may expect, but I found myself genuinely impressed with some new ideas. The robots old models of robots that are keeping all of these people inside of the house are especially cool to me. They each are totally different and have comical personalities. They want nothing more than to be human and they truly seem to care for the safety of these brainless people they aim to protect from the Yonyx.

These Yonyx are as blunt as they come and they seem to have gotten out of control. The world could be coming to an end for these humans, or perhaps it will just start over in a new way. I'll leave it up to you to find out. I just want to make it abundantly clear that I really loved this movie. Don't expect some over-the-top cinematics that most big-budget films carry, but you will get some real laughs and new ideas about our possible future. 

If you watch this trailer, you can get an excellent idea of why this unique film is so worth your time. If it disappoints, then you can tell me that I wasted your time. However, if you are like me and have an open mind and a wild sense of humor, this will likely become one of your favorite foreign comedies.

That movie was amazing. I couldn't watch it in french though, eventhough i usually always watch in original language. :/ my french too bad. But it was very humourous and single in it's kind. French humor is sometimes so wack and funny 🤣 the effects weren't that great, but the idea and concept was very epic. Also the reference to Covid 2050 another way to keep people at home and locked down. Also I love the show of Homoridiculous, it's basically tiktok all over the TV. 🤣

I'm fine with the original language, but I usually just go with English. It is easier to watch that way and usually extra funny because of it. So you speak French too? How many languages? I'm curious. 

The setting was cool in that quirky house, but the robots and other effects were pretty basic. Still a fantastic movie though. I"m glad you took the time to watch it and actually enjoyed it. 

Glad you caught the Covid joke too 😉 Homoridiculous is something I know that plenty of people in my real life would jump at the opportunity to participate in... maybe we are already there?

Idiocracy https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/ is another great "humans are dumb in the future" movie. I have a feeling you have already watched that one though.

i have seen idiocracy already. But i think the big bug is more cultured and subtle way to show how idiotic humans are 🤣 Homoridiculous needs and tiktok channel 🤣 
I used to speak / read french on business level. I gave my self the three musketeers in french original by Dumas. Dude I can't even read one page of that right now, but back during my study days there was no way to consume anime or manga except in foreign languages. It was either french, chinese or japanese. NO manga or anime in english or german. it was so rare. What great lenghts you would go just to consume your favorite popculture, it is incredible. Today the kids aren't even able to read subtitles in their native language. It's sad. Everything became so easy, that instant gratification is a huge problem😒 for the next generation.

yay, watched and it was fun and cool. The dubbing in english vs trying to read the subtitles really made it much more enjoyable to watch. (took me a few minutes to figure out to set that.. i hardly ever watch netflix)

I thought the guy who played Yonyx did an awesome job..

I love dubbed movies, they tend to be quite hilarious. I feel like me doing the English voices for foreign characters may be one of my callings. 

The Yonyx was indeed a pretty cool character. Made me think that dealing with a robot like that would suck so badly.

I dread a future like this where stupid rules are enforced by robots that we have no ability to stop. I can only imagine how our reality will be in 30 years.

iRobot is the first movie I remember from my childhood that made me consider an army of machines that were more intelligent and stronger than humans. That was all the way back in 2004. Luckily we still are not to that point, but we get closer each day. Something like that isn't guaranteed, but it is far from impossible to occur.
