Siempre es oportuno reencontrarnos con los conceptos con los que nos identificamos, en los que nos movemos y que se convierten en lucecitas que  nos alumbran el camino. Para los que hacemos vida en la comunidad @holos-lotus, “Crecimiento Personal”, es uno de estos conceptos en los que hurgamos con frecuencia porque sabemos que allí podemos encontrar la clave para vivir con un mayor nivel de satisfacción y bienestar. <br></br>

Porque de eso se trata el crecimiento personal, de todas esas acciones que ponemos en práctica para desarrollar nuestra consciencia, capacidades y potencialidades que nos permitan sacarle brillo a lo mejor de nosotros,  a mirar y vivir desde una perspectivas más amable donde  valoramos de manera muy especial ese don supremo que llamamos vida.<br></br>

Intuitiva o conscientemente sabemos cuándo es el momento de dar el siguiente paso, cuando requerimos de un cambio, de transformarnos, ya que avanzar nos es propio. Las personas tenemos como un interruptor interno que se activa automáticamente cuando lo que vivimos, sentimos, experimentamos no nos satisface y esa es una señal para accionar que muchas veces obviamos por temor, por creer que las cosas cambiaran por si solas o porque nos hemos acostumbrado a estar en la zona del ataúd (perdón, la   zona de confort) que aunque  angosta e incómoda  sigue dándonos seguridad, tranquilidad o cualquier otra prerrogativa que satisface alguna necesidad.<br></br>

# Necesidad o deseo <br></br>

Todas las acepciones de la palabra “necesidad” que nos da la Real Academia de la lengua están relacionadas con un sentimiento  o emoción de baja vibra: impulso irresistible, carencia, falta, peligro, riesgo y entre sus sinónimos encontramos: obligación, exigencia, apuro, aprieto, escasez, fatalidad, indigencia, penuria, miseria, pobreza. ¡Qué palabrita para conectarnos con el mal-estar! Entonces ¿No hablamos de  necesidades? <br></br>

Quizás lo propio sea darle a la palabra su justo lugar y ¿cuál sería este lugar? Maslow, el famoso psicólogo, a través de su pirámide señaló cinco niveles de necesidades jerarquizándolas desde las más básicas como comer y descansar hasta las más elevadas como es la autorealización, en ello basó su teoría de la motivación, fundamentando, que  cuando un nivel está cubierto, tienes la motivación  para cubrir nuevas necesidades.  Como buen humanista encontraba la interrelación de estas necesidades que se mantienen a lo largo de la vida. El asunto es dónde  está el límite, cuándo no es necesidad sino deseo, capricho, ego, cuándo encontramos la satisfacción que podamos distinguir y decir deseo, en vez de necesito.  No saber hacer esta distinción nos mantiene en una insatisfacción constante y no se trata de ser conformista o no tener el sentido de merecimiento.<br></br>

Se trata de darnos cuenta si nuestros deseos se corresponden a una necesidad real o creada, por ejemplo, ese teléfono de última generación que “necesitas” ¿realmente lo necesitas cuando solo utilizas el aparato interactuando en WhatsAap?, ¿Comer en el restauran de moda, satisface una necesidad o un deseo? En este sentido es importante resaltar que los deseos son unos maravillosos motivadores así que no los pintemos de carencia y escasez, porque precisamente, en el deseo ya la necesidad está cubierta solo que quieres más y mejor de lo que ya tienes. <br></br>

De allí que sea  oportuno   reflexionar sobre nuestras necesidades  porque en ocasiones ocurre que detrás de un  deseo hay una necesidad, de otro tipo o nivel que está insatisfecha y ese es un gran reto de crecimiento personal, descubrir cuáles son esas necesidades, satisfacerlas y transformar ese sentimiento de  carencia e insatisfacción por otro que nos lleve a desarrollar un mayor bienestar.<br></br>
  
Los excesos y adicciones en nuestras vidas siempre son unos buenos indicadores para iniciar este trabajo introspectivo, por ejemplo: que necesidades no satisfechas están detrás de ese:<br></br>

- Comer de manera compulsiva
- Beber o fumar 
- No darnos tregua con el trabajo 
- Permanecer con una pareja a sabiendas de que no es la persona que queremos a nuestro lado. <br></br>

Reiterando,  detrás las necesidades hay unas carencias en otros niveles que pueden no están satisfechas y las cubrimos con los excesos en otro nivel.  De esto se trata la iniciativa que les proponemos hoy: ***reflexionar acerca de nuestras necesidades básicas y nuestro nivel de satisfacción con la vida, con lo que somos, hacemos, tenemos y sentimos.*** <br></br>

### Para guiar este trabajo introspectivo pregúntate:<br></br>

* ¿Qué grado de satisfacción tienes en cada nivel de necesidad?: bajo, medio, alto.<br></br>

* ¿Qué conductas, acciones, pensamientos, emociones, palabras te hacen pensar en necesidades no satisfechas?<br></br>

* ¿Cuál es esa necesidad que aún satisfaciendo el deseo sigues sintiendo que te falta algo , que hay un vacío y sigues buscando con qué llenarlo.<br></br>

* Si descubres alguna necesidad real no satisfecha qué acciones vas a tomar  para cubrirla y alcanzar un mayor y mejor estado de bienestar.<br></br>

Es oportuno puntualizar que tus experiencias son algo personal e íntimo por lo que no es necesario compartir tus procesos ni resultados con detalles. Lo que si nos gustaría que compartieras es la visión general que da nombre a la iniciativa ***“Descubrir tus necesidades”*** .y cómo al descubrirlas puedes lograr dar ese paso que te lleva a crecer.<br></br>

It is always opportune to reconnect with the concepts with which we identify ourselves, in which we move and which become little lights that illuminate our path. For those of us who make life in the @holos-lotus community, "Personal Growth" is one of these concepts in which we often delve because we know that there we can find the key to live with a higher level of satisfaction and well-being. <br></br>

Because that is what personal growth is all about, all those actions that we put into practice to develop our consciousness, capabilities and potentialities that allow us to bring out the best of us, to look and live from a kinder perspective where we value in a very special way that supreme gift we call life.<br></br>

Intuitively or consciously we know when it is time to take the next step, when we need to change, to transform ourselves, because moving forward is our own. People have like an internal switch that is automatically activated when what we live, feel, experience does not satisfy us and that is a signal to act that many times we ignore out of fear, believing that things will change by themselves or because we have become accustomed to being in the coffin zone (sorry, the comfort zone) that although narrow and uncomfortable continues to give us security, tranquility or any other prerogative that satisfies some need.<br></br>

# Need or desire <br></br>

All the meanings of the word "need" given by the Royal Academy of the language are related to a feeling or emotion of low vibration: irresistible impulse, lack, lack, danger, risk and among its synonyms we find: obligation, demand, trouble, predicament, scarcity, fatality, destitution, hardship, misery, poverty. What a little word to connect us with the bad-being! So we do not speak of needs? <br></br>

Perhaps the proper thing to do is to give the word its rightful place and what would this place be? Maslow, the famous psychologist, through his pyramid pointed out five levels of needs, hierarchizing them from the most basic, such as eating and resting, to the highest, such as self-fulfillment, on which he based his theory of motivation, stating that when a level is covered, you have the motivation to cover new needs.  As a good humanist, he found the interrelation of these needs that are maintained throughout life. In other words, we will always have needs and they motivate us to meet them.<br></br>

The issue is where is the limit, when it is not need but desire, whim, ego, when we find the satisfaction that we can distinguish and say I want, instead of I need.  Not knowing how to make this distinction keeps us in a constant dissatisfaction and it is not about being conformist or not having the sense of deserving.<br></br>

It is about realizing if our desires correspond to a real or created need, for example, that latest generation phone that you "need", do you really need it when you only use the device interacting on WhatsAap, eating at the trendy restaurant, does it satisfy a need or a desire? In this sense it is important to emphasize that desires are wonderful motivators so let's not paint them with lack and scarcity, because precisely, in the desire the need is already covered only that you want more and better than what you already have. <br></br>

Hence it is appropriate to reflect on our needs because sometimes it happens that behind a desire there is a need, of another type or level that is unsatisfied and that is a great challenge of personal growth, discover what those needs are, satisfy them and transform that feeling of lack and dissatisfaction for another that leads us to develop a greater welfare.<br></br>
  
The excesses and addictions in our lives are always good indicators to start this introspective work, for example: what unsatisfied needs are behind this:<br></br>

- Compulsive eating
- Drinking or smoking 
- Of not giving ourselves a break at work 
- To stay with a partner knowing that he/she is not the person we want by our side.<br></br>
 
To reiterate, behind these needs there are deficiencies at other levels that are not satisfied and we cover them with excesses at another level and this is the initiative that we propose today:***to reflect on our basic needs and our level of satisfaction with life, with what we are, what we do, what we have and what we feel.***<br></br><br></br>

* What degree of satisfaction do you have in each level of need: low, medium, high?
* What behaviors, actions, thoughts, emotions, words make you think of unsatisfied needs?
* What is that need that even satisfying the desire you still feel that something is missing, that there is a void and you keep looking for something to fill it with.
* If you discover a real unsatisfied need, what actions are you going to take to cover it and reach a greater and better state of well-being.<br></br>

It is appropriate to point out that your experiences are something personal and intimate so it is not necessary to share your processes or results in detail. What we would like you to share is the general vision that gives name to the initiative ***"Discovering your needs"*** and how by discovering them you can take that step that leads you to grow.<br></br>
